Choose the right starting point

A warning light or a deployment?

These are different situations. Tell us what happened, whether the car was in a collision and what work has already been done.

No known collision

The airbag or SRS light stays on

A fault can involve wiring, a connector, a sensor, the clock spring, a pretensioner or the control system. A scan helps guide testing, but the code alone does not establish the failed part.

The system may not protect occupants as intended. Follow the owner’s manual and arrange prompt assessment before continuing normal use.

After a crash or deployment

An airbag or pretensioner has fired

A deployed airbag cannot be reused. The vehicle needs an assessment of the restraints and other collision damage, with replacement and checks following the manufacturer’s procedure.

Arrange vehicle recovery. Do not drive it merely because the engine still starts.

Buying or checking a used car

The repair history is unclear

We can review available crash and repair records and inspect suspected previous restraint work. A tidy dashboard and an unlit warning lamp do not prove the whole history.

Tell us about replaced seats, steering wheels, dashboards or missing paperwork.

How the parts add up

Example: driver airbag and one seat belt

AED 2,300–6,000 including 5% VAT

This combines the new driver-airbag estimate of AED 1,500–3,500 with one new seat-belt or pretensioner assembly at AED 800–2,500, including the fitting and checks listed above.

It is an example of these two replacements, not a complete collision-repair quote. We assess sensors, modules, trim and the other restraints, then show all required work in your car’s total.

Find the fault behind the light

What we check when the airbag light is on

SRS means Supplemental Restraint System. It includes airbags and related restraint controls; seat belts remain essential to occupant protection.

We discuss the warning and repair history, then agree the checks needed. Our workshop uses AUTEL or other vehicle-compatible diagnostic equipment. Tell us your make, model and year so we can confirm the right inspection for your car. Intermittent faults and previous collision repairs may need more testing than an initial scan.

Leave the airbag wiring alone.

Do not unplug, probe or bypass restraint components to try to remove a warning. Airbags and pretensioners need trained handling and vehicle-specific precautions.

  1. 01

    Read the fault information

We read the relevant modules, record fault information and check the airbag warning lamp against the manufacturer’s startup sequence, including a lamp that fails to come on when expected.

  2. 02

Check the indicated circuit or component

We test the relevant circuit or component using the vehicle’s repair procedure before recommending a replacement.

  3. 03

    Identify the repair and parts

We explain the diagnosis, suitable parts and any further testing needed, with a quote before repair work starts.

  4. 04

    Verify after the repair

We complete the required setup and post-repair checks, including passenger-seat detection calibration where specified. Your repair record identifies what was replaced and checked.

Seat belts, buckles and pretensioners are part of the restraint-system assessment.

Look beyond the steering wheel

Airbags and seat belts work together

A pretensioner tightens the seat belt during certain collisions. If it fires, it needs the replacement specified by the manufacturer. The repair may also require sensors, the control module and other restraints to be checked or replaced.

Damaged webbing, a locked belt or a fired pretensioner needs the correct assessment. Changing fabric or resetting a warning is not a substitute for restoring the specified restraint assembly.

Keep the repair complete

We discuss required parts and related checks as one plan. Any associated collision repair is assessed alongside the restraint work.

Spend on the repair your car needs

How we help lower your airbag repair bill

Tell us about your car and share any quote you already have. We handle the diagnosis and parts comparison, then explain where a suitable alternative could reduce your bill.

Can a used airbag lower the price?

We can source used, undeployed airbags for some vehicles. Our team handles the part matching, supplier history, recall checks and manufacturer requirements before offering an option.

New parts avoid the uncertainty of an airbag’s previous use. If your manufacturer requires new restraints or a used part’s history is unclear, we quote new parts. We explain the condition, price and warranty terms before you decide.

Used-airbag availability and prices depend on your car. We confirm which options are suitable before quoting.

  1. Find the fault before replacing parts

We investigate the warning before recommending parts. A connector, clock spring or sensor fault may need a different repair from airbag replacement.

  2. Compare suitable parts prices

We compare available suppliers for the correct parts. Where a used option is appropriate, we explain it alongside the new-part quote so you can see the difference.

  3. Make the total clear

We explain parts, fitting, required programming, related work and VAT in your quote. Programming already included in a replacement is not charged again.

  4. Plan related work together

We identify connected restraint and trim work before starting. Planning access and parts together helps avoid unnecessary repeat dismantling and lets you understand the complete repair cost.

Know what your repair includes

The right parts.
A complete repair.

An airbag warning does not always mean you need a new airbag. A deployed bag, however, must be replaced. The fault, crash history and manufacturer’s instructions determine the parts and checks your car needs.

Parts matched to your car

We match replacement airbags to your VIN, restraint system and seating position, and document the part and source. Similar-looking airbags are not automatically interchangeable. We exclude repacked bags and parts with an unverified history.

Which airbag has deployed?

Driver, dashboard, seat, curtain, knee and center airbags are different assemblies. Their location changes the access, trim and related parts needed. We identify each affected position in your quote.

Seat covers and seat sensors

Seat-airbag repairs may require a new cover, foam or other seat parts under the manufacturer’s procedure. Ordinary restitching is not a substitute. The passenger-seat detection system may also need calibration after seat components are changed.

Does the control module need replacing?

The answer depends on the vehicle, the module’s condition and the manufacturer’s instructions. Replacement or programming may be required. Erasing crash data alone does not establish that the module is suitable for reuse.

Fix the fault behind the warning

A cleared code or an unlit warning lamp does not prove a complete repair. Required checks must cover the affected restraints. Bypasses and removed warning bulbs do not restore missing or damaged safety components.

Your repair record

We provide an itemized repair record covering replaced parts and relevant post-repair checks. Restraint work, interior trim and collision repairs are clearly identified, with the applicable warranty terms explained.

Understand the next step

Airbag repair questions

Can a deployed airbag be repaired and reused?

No. A deployed airbag must be replaced. The rest of the restraint system also needs the inspection and replacement steps required by the vehicle manufacturer. Repacking the bag or hiding the warning is not an appropriate repair.

Can I drive with the airbag light on?

The warning may mean the restraint system will not work as intended. Follow your owner’s manual and contact the team promptly before continuing normal use. After deployment or a collision, arrange recovery and inspection before the car is driven again.

Will resetting the airbag light fix the fault?

Not by itself. The underlying fault must be identified and repaired, with the required checks afterward. Erasing codes without addressing a defective component can hide a problem without restoring protection.

How much does airbag repair cost in Dubai?

At My Car Repair Dubai, initial SRS diagnosis is AED 150–350, clock-spring replacement is AED 400–1,200 and driver airbag replacement is AED 1,500–3,500 for common models. These estimated prices include 5% VAT. The final quote depends on the exact vehicle, parts and related work. Used-airbag options are quoted separately after suitability checks.

Do your airbag repair prices include VAT and fitting?

Yes. All prices shown include 5% VAT. Replacement rows include the listed new part, fitting and post-repair checks, with setup or programming as stated. Extra testing, damaged trim and other required components are identified in your quote before approval.

Can you source a used airbag to reduce the cost?

Yes, we can source used, undeployed airbags for some vehicles. Our team handles part matching, source history, recall checks and the manufacturer’s repair requirements. We explain suitable options and their price and warranty terms. If new restraints are required or a used part’s history is unclear, we quote new parts.

Does every airbag warning mean the airbag itself is faulty?

No. The warning relates to the wider restraint system. Wiring, connectors, sensors, clock springs, pretensioners or control faults can be involved. Diagnosis is needed before choosing a part.

Do seat belts need replacement after a crash?

It depends on the event, their condition and the manufacturer’s procedure. Fired pretensioners and damaged restraint parts require the specified replacement. Inspection must go beyond whether the belt still clips into its buckle.

Can you check airbags on a used car?

We can discuss an SRS inspection and review available fault information, parts and repair history. A diagnostic scan alone cannot prove the complete accident history or guarantee every concealed component is original.

Is the passenger-airbag OFF indicator always a fault?

No. Some vehicles switch the passenger airbag status according to the seat or occupancy system. Check the owner’s manual for the expected behavior. If it is unexpected or accompanied by a restraint warning, arrange an assessment.
