Your Alpina’s specification

A B3 Touring and a B7 share the ALPINA name, but the parts that shape their performance and ride are very different. The model and production year are the starting point for the service.

B3 and B4 families

B3 and B3 S saloons and Touring models, plus B4 and B4 S coupés and convertibles, are covered for servicing, mechanical and body repairs. The later B4 Gran Coupé is a separate generation.

Modern turbocharged six-cylinder engines have their own cooling and transmission requirements. Earlier cars are matched to their original specification. A convertible enquiry can include roof operation or water entering the cabin alongside mechanical work.

B5, B6 and B7

For B5 and B5 GT saloons and Touring models, B6s and B7s, we cover V8 engine repairs, gearboxes, brakes and comfort systems. Year and body style affect access and parts.

Later B7 air suspension and rear-wheel steering deserve particular attention when a car sits unevenly or no longer rides as it should. An earlier B5 also needs its engine and equipment identified before parts are ordered.

Alpina repair price guide

Five useful starting points for budgeting. The price beside each job states its own VAT basis.

Oil and filter service
From AED 359Including 5% VAT
General Dubai market benchmark for engine oil, a new standard oil filter and service labour. Oil quantity, the required approval and the correct filter change the final amount. This is not an ALPINA package.
Wheel alignment
From AED 315Including 5% VAT
General Dubai market benchmark for a vehicle-alignment service. Suspension repairs, replacement tyres and rear-steering calibration are outside this figure. Your quote must account for the required ALPINA alignment data and any additional setup work.
Targeted gearbox repair
AED 1,500–4,500Excluding 5% VAT
Published general workshop estimate for a component-level repair with ordinary parts and labour. Diagnosis, removal, fluids, cooler work and coding are specified separately where needed. Performance gearbox work can exceed this range.
Automatic gearbox rebuild
AED 4,500–14,000Excluding 5% VAT
Published general workshop estimate for automatic-transmission rebuilding with ordinary parts and labour. The damaged items, removal and refitting, oil and specialist work need a complete vehicle-specific quotation.
Turbo repair or replacement
AED 4,900–14,500Including 5% VAT
Published multi-brand engine-work range for turbo faults and repair or replacement. The number of turbos, exact unit, access and related oil or cooling repairs are identified separately for your ALPINA.

Choose parts that keep the character

The right replacement should preserve what you like about the car. A damper affects its ride; a wheel and tyre combination changes its response; an exhaust or interior material changes a detail you notice every day. Tell us when retaining the original specification is a priority.

Some components are shared with BMW. Others are specific to ALPINA or to a particular production period. Vehicle details and the fitted part guide the choice of genuine BMW or ALPINA components and suitable alternatives. The estimate names what will be supplied, so you can compare the actual options.

Previous modifications matter too. Non-standard wheels, a remap or replacement suspension can change the cause of a vibration and which parts fit. An invoice or part number is useful when a car has already had specialist work.

Bring back the original ride

A harsh response over bumps, a low corner or a vibration through the steering wheel can change the whole car. The suspension, wheels and brakes are considered together.

Suspension that matches the car

Control arms, bushes, joints, springs, dampers and wheel bearings are repaired or replaced according to their condition. An adaptive damper must work with the fitted control system and retain the intended ride characteristics.

On an air-suspended B7 or XB7, a low corner may come from an air spring, a leak, a valve or a height signal. A compressor can also be involved. Finding the underlying fault matters because a new compressor will still struggle against an unresolved leak.

Ride-height setup, active-steering calibration and any required specialist access are checked for the exact car before the repair is accepted.

Keep the wheel setup correct

ALPINA fitments can use different tyre sizes front and rear. Size, load and speed ratings must suit the approved wheel combination, and a staggered set cannot be rotated as though all four wheels were interchangeable.

A damaged wheel is inspected before balancing. Alignment uses the applicable vehicle data after worn joints or impact damage are addressed, including the appropriate procedure for cars with active rear steering.

Brake work by axle and equipment

Pad and disc selection follows the fitted caliper and brake package. Disc measurements and surface condition determine whether existing discs can stay with a new pad set. Sensors and hardware are identified in the estimate.

A dragging caliper, fluid leak or soft pedal needs its own repair. If braking is reduced, the pedal sinks or the car sits too low to move safely, call about recovery before driving.

Follow the leak or power loss

Oil leaks, ignition and fuel-delivery faults, cooling repairs and turbo work are all part of the engine service. A careful repair starts with the source of the leak or poor running, then deals with the damaged components.

Later V8 ALPINAs can have several cooling circuits serving the engine, oil, transmission and charge air. Coolant on the floor or reduced performance therefore calls for the correct circuit to be traced. The extra coolers and connections on a B7 or XB7 can change access and parts costs.

A leaking hose, radiator, pump or thermostat may be the repair. Fan operation and temperature control also matter. Pressure and temperature checks guide the work, followed by the specified filling and bleeding procedure. Stop safely if the engine overheats rather than continuing to the workshop.

When the turbo is suspected

A boost leak, misfire or fuel fault can feel like turbo failure. Testing separates them before choosing repair or replacement. A replacement turbo must match the ALPINA arrangement and its oil and coolant connections.

For a diesel import, fuel-injection and emissions equipment add another set of checks. A DPF or reduced-power message needs the engine and emissions system identified before work is accepted; regeneration alone will not resolve every fault.

When the engine needs more

A damaged seal or external component can often be handled as a local repair. Internal wear or damage calls for supporting findings before comparing rebuilding with replacement.

That comparison includes the fitted cost and compatibility of the engine, electronics and ancillary equipment. A replacement described only as a similar BMW engine is insufficient for an ALPINA-specific job.

Care for the fitted SWITCH-TRONIC

SWITCH-TRONIC spans several gearbox generations. Later ALPINA automatics can have revised calibration and reinforced components, so the unit’s identification belongs on the repair enquiry along with the model and year.

A service for a healthy gearbox

Scheduled fluid maintenance uses the specified oil and the correct filter or sump arrangement. Filling and temperature-controlled level checks follow that transmission’s procedure. The service plan reflects its age and history rather than one interval applied across every ALPINA.

A repair for changed shifting

Harsh shifts, delayed engagement or slipping call for investigation before a fluid service is sold as the answer. Supply voltage, faults, leaks and fluid condition help distinguish a component repair from internal gearbox work. Programming or setup requirements are established for the exact car before committing to them.

A vibration through the driveline

On xDrive models, tyres, shafts, mounts, the transfer case and a differential can all enter the investigation. The fitted differential and its fluid specification matter. Sorting out compatible tyres first can prevent an unsuitable wheel combination from being overlooked during a gearbox complaint.

Keep the cabin and finish intact

Cooling the cabin, repairing a damaged panel and matching worn leather are different jobs, but they share one aim here: retain the equipment and finish your ALPINA was built with.

AC and everyday electrical faults

Weak airflow points the work towards filters, the blower and air distribution. Strong airflow that stays warm leads to checks of the refrigerant circuit, compressor and condenser. A refill follows the relevant checks and uses the specified refrigerant and charge quantity.

Tell us which vents or seating area are affected on a B7 or XB7 with rear climate controls. A single warm zone can be a local control problem. Water entering the cabin is also worth mentioning when windows, lighting or other comfort systems behave intermittently.

Starting faults, wiring and parking sensors can be investigated individually. Camera, key, security and control-module work requires a compatibility and access check before any programming commitment.

Separate 12V from 48V

The starter battery is tested with the charging system and, where necessary, an overnight drain investigation. A replacement matches the required type and capacity, with registration or setup where the car requires it.

Some later XB7 and diesel versions also carry 48V mild-hybrid equipment. A 12V battery quote excludes the 48V battery, starter-generator and associated electronics. Share the warning and year before booking so the required capability or specialist arrangement can be established.

Paint and exterior details

Scratches, dents and damaged panels can be repaired or refinished according to the damage. The paint code and existing finish guide colour matching and any blending into adjacent panels. ALPINA spoilers, bumper inserts and decorative stripes are accounted for individually.

Glass and sensors

Windscreen and window replacements must suit the fitted glass, cameras and rain sensors. Any required calibration, including externally arranged specialist work, is established before the repair. Sensors behind a damaged bumper also need attention when bodywork is completed.

Leather, trim and convertible roofs

For a worn seat or damaged interior panel, discuss a local repair, material replacement or retrimming. Colour, texture and stitching matter particularly on bespoke interiors. A roof leak is repaired before replacing the upholstery it has damaged; roof-operation faults receive their own assessment.

Arrange the work in Al Quoz

Send the model, year and the repair or service you have in mind. For an intermittent problem, a warning photograph or short noise recording can help. For an older or modified car, previous invoices often save uncertainty about what has already been fitted.

We explain the agreed work and any extra investigation before charging for it. Parts deliveries, machining and specialist operations can extend the time beyond the repair itself, so the completion estimate accounts for those arrangements.

Before collection, checks follow the work completed and the original complaint. They may include leaks and operating temperatures, braking or suspension operation, relevant fault checks and a safe road test. Keep the invoice and part details, together with any bedding-in advice, follow-up checks and the warranty terms for the supplied parts and work.

A few practical questions

Is this an official Alpina workshop?

No. My Car Repair Dubai is an independent workshop operated by AMF Auto Services LLC at 39, Al Quoz Industrial Area 4, Dubai.

Can I drive with a drivetrain warning?

Follow the handbook and stop safely if the warning comes with overheating, an oil-pressure warning, severe vibration, smoke, loss of drive or reduced braking. Call with the symptoms to discuss inspection and recovery.

Do I need the part number?

You can start with the model, year and requested work. A previous invoice, part number or production-plaque photograph becomes useful when an imported, older or modified car needs exact fitment established.
