For the next scheduled service

What your service includes

The cost guide starts with an oil service. Other maintenance is added when your Volkswagen’s schedule and service history show it is due.

Engine oil, inspection work and gearbox servicing have separate scopes. Your quote lists each one.

Oil serviceOil and filter replacement
Specified oil product and quantity, the matching engine filter, required seals, labor and final checks. Match the Volkswagen approval as well as the viscosity.See the oil service inclusions
When dueFilters, plugs and fluids
Air and cabin filters, gasoline spark plugs, diesel fuel filters and brake fluid are listed individually. DSG, automatic gearbox and 4MOTION fluids are separate jobs.
Agreed checksCondition and service record
Confirm the inspection scope for brakes, tires, visible leaks and battery. The invoice records completed work and parts. An applicable reminder reset follows the completed service.

Use the schedule for your exact car

Follow its time and mileage limits and service-monitoring instructions. There is no universal 5,000 or 10,000 km package. Imported specification, short trips and missing records may need closer review. Volkswagen explains how to check the required oil standard in the handbook.

A separate service decision

Volkswagen DSG and gearbox repair choices

After engine servicing, check whether the gearbox has its own due work. Jerking, slipping or lost drive calls for fault assessment before choosing a fluid service.

Maintenance that is due

Match the fluid, filter and service procedure to the gearbox code and applicable interval.

A gearbox that is not working properly

Describe the shift complaint. The findings determine whether a clutch, control system or internal repair is needed.

Fitted gearboxFor maintenanceFor a fault
Wet-clutch DSGSpecified fluid, applicable filter and correct fill procedure. Requirements vary by unit.Clutch, mechatronic, leak or internal work after assessment. Oil alone is not a confirmed repair.
Dry-clutch DSGClutches do not run in an oil bath. The gearbox is not entirely fluid-free.Separate clutch wear from actuator, control, electrical and internal faults.
Conventional automaticIdentify fluid, filter or sump requirements. Touareg applications need their own specification.Compare valve-body repair, rebuild or replacement when the findings support it.
ManualApplicable gearbox oil and leak checks are separate from engine oil.Clutch, flywheel, hydraulic or internal work depends on the cause.

Seven speeds do not tell you whether DSG clutches are wet or dry. The year, engine and gearbox identification do. On 4MOTION cars, final-drive and four-wheel-drive fluids are separate again.

Targeted repair

For a serviceable clutch or control fault without wider internal damage.

Rebuild

Consider when internal damage can be repaired and suitable components are available.

Replacement

What a DSG repair quote needs to include

Quoted workCheck before approval
Due fluid maintenanceExact gearbox code, specified fluid, applicable filter and seals, fill procedure and whether separate 4MOTION fluids are due.
DSG clutch repairWet or dry clutch type, supplied clutch parts, removal and fitting, condition of related parts and required setup or adaptation.
Mechatronic repair or replacementFault confirmed by testing, repaired or replacement unit condition, compatibility, fitting and any required software access or setup.
Internal rebuild or replacementAgreed dismantling charge, damaged internal parts, compatible replacement identity, fluids, fitting, final checks and written warranty terms.

There is no reliable single DSG price from the model badge alone. We identify the gearbox and confirmed repair before pricing it. The manual clutch and conventional automatic guides above cover different jobs.

When the engine needs a repair

Match the repair to the problem

A fault needs a different plan from due maintenance. TSI gasoline, imported diesel and older engines require work matched to their components.

Coolant loss or rising temperature
Possible workHose, water pump, thermostat or radiator repair for a confirmed leak. Fan and circulation faults need their own remedy.
Quoted scopeSpecified coolant and relevant final checks. Possible damage after overheating is assessed separately.
Oil leaks, rough running or reduced power
Possible workA housing or seal, plugs or coils, or an intake or boost hose when the findings support it.
Quoted scopeIdentify the affected part and cause. Repeated oil loss or a misfire does not automatically mean a new turbo or engine.
Timing work or internal damage
Possible workThe correct belt or chain kit, a targeted internal repair, suitable rebuild or matched replacement engine.
Quoted scopeAccess, timing components, machining and ancillary parts. Existing damage changes the complete job.
Warning lights need testing

An EPC or engine warning is a starting point for diagnosis. We use AUTEL or suitable car-specific equipment with live readings and physical checks, as appropriate. Misfiring, coolant loss and reduced power can have different causes, even on engines with the same TSI badge. Share the exact warning and when it occurs. Do not keep driving with serious overheating, an oil-pressure warning or severe loss of drive.

Agreed scanning and targeted diagnosis is generally AED 150–350 including 5% VAT. Extended tests and dismantling are separate. See our diagnostic assessment. Protected software, keys and online functions are confirmed individually before accepting the work.

Braking and handling

Brakes and handling repairs

Choose braking or handling below. Follow the checks and repair decisions for that concern before agreeing the work.

Close inspection of a worn brake disc with the wheel removed
General brake inspection photograph. Disc condition is checked before recommending pads or replacement discs.
Which concern are you bringing in?

From brake checks to the right repair

  1. Check the fitted brakes and condition

Confirm front or rear axle, brake size, disc specification, sensors and electronic parking-brake equipment. GTI, Golf R and other performance brakes need their fitted specification.

  2. Choose the wear repair

Pads only are suitable when disc thickness and condition meet the vehicle’s limits. Check caliper movement and uneven wear so the cause does not damage the new pads.

Pads and discs means fitting correct matching discs and new pads on the affected axle.

  3. Treat a brake fault separately

Sensor, wiring, caliper, hydraulic and ABS faults need different repairs. An ABS warning alone does not prove module failure.

A sinking pedal, reduced stopping power or wheel smoke calls for stopping safely and arranging help.

From handling checks to final alignment

  1. Start with tires, wheels and steering

Check tires, wheels and joints before final alignment. A pull or uneven wear is not always an alignment-only problem.

  2. Assess the fitted suspension

Conventional suspension may allow a serviceable bush or joint to be repaired separately. Consider worn dampers as an axle pair and assess mounts and springs.

Air or adaptive suspension needs its own checks. A low corner may involve a leak, valve, sensor or compressor. Touareg air springs and electronic dampers need the correct unit and setup.

  3. Complete repairs before final alignment

Agree the work for the confirmed tire, steering or suspension concern before final alignment. Compare the systems in our suspension repair guide.

Comfort and everyday electrical faults

AC and electrical repairs

Tell us which cooling, airflow, starting or electrical function has changed. Select the closest concern to see the possible work and what affects the repair.

Air moves but stays warm

Work to consider
Leak repair and the specified recharge, compressor work or a confirmed electrical or control repair. Adding refrigerant does not repair a leak or a failed component.
What changes the job
The refrigerant type, leak location, compressor condition and access. Cooling that fades in traffic also needs fan and heat-rejection checks.

Very little air reaches the vents

Work to consider
A due cabin filter, blower or speed-control repair, or an air-distribution fault. A gas top-up will not remove an airflow restriction.
What changes the job
Whether every fan speed works, which vents are affected and access to the blower or air doors. Tell us if the problem begins only after a long drive.

One side is warmer than the other

Work to consider
Climate-door, actuator or sensor repairs when supported by testing. Cooling performance must also be assessed before assuming a door motor has failed.
What changes the job
The affected zone, fitted climate-control system and access behind the dashboard. Mention any clicking and whether front and rear cooling behave differently.

Starting and other electrical faults

Check the battery and connections
A no-start complaint is not proof that the battery needs replacement. Assess its condition and connections before choosing a part.
Find why the car will not start
The charging system, starter or another fault may be responsible. Recurring discharge needs investigation of the cause, rather than another battery by assumption.
Match the replacement or repair
A battery needs the correct type, capacity and applicable registration, especially with stop-start equipment. Confirmed wiring, lighting, window and lock faults are quoted for the affected component.

Manufacturer-controlled software, component protection and online functions are confirmed separately. Ordinary electrical diagnosis is not a promise to unlock or code every Volkswagen system.

The concern panels describe possible work; testing establishes the cause. Refrigerant, charge weight and compressor oil must match the vehicle. Electric or hybrid compressor work is confirmed before arranging the visit. See our AC repair guide for repair and recharge choices.

Damage and replacement choices

Body glass and interior repair choices

Send clear photos of the affected area. First agree a local repair, replacement or closer damage assessment, then compare the complete fitted quote.

Choose the damaged area

Panels and paint

Local repair A suitable dent may be repaired without refinishing. Damaged paint needs preparation and color matching.

Replacement or further assessment Impact damage needs panel, mounting and structural assessment. Adjacent paint blending may be required.

Windshield and glass

Local repair Consider an eligible small-chip repair before replacing the glass.

Replacement or further assessment Match cameras, heating, acoustic or head-up-display features. Include required calibration and adhesive drive-away time.

Seats, trim and finish

Local repair A local upholstery repair can preserve original material. Match the color, material and affected area.

Replacement or further assessment A damaged cover may need replacement. Cleaning and detailing improve appearance but do not repair broken structure or glass.

See the glass repair and replacement choices or collision repair information for more detail.

Arrange the work

From your inquiry to collection

With the work identified, we can discuss an appointment and quotation. A due service is usually easier to plan than an intermittent fault or a job awaiting parts.

  1. Agree the visit

Call before traveling. Confirm the appointment, inspection scope and any investigation charge. Discuss pickup and return by arrangement, including schedule, location and cost. An unsafe car needs recovery.

  2. Review the fitted quotation

Approve the repair scope, parts and total. Ask when assessment and quoting are expected and whether the car needs to stay.

  3. Confirm the time without the car

Parts delivery, machining, specialist work and claim approval can extend the job. Confirm availability and timing before relying on a collection date.

  4. Collect with a clear record

Review the invoice, fitted parts, checks on the original complaint and remaining recommendations. Confirm actual warranty terms, aftercare and the next service due.

Follow applicable brake bedding or glass drive-away instructions. We are an independent workshop. Our invoice does not automatically update Volkswagen’s manufacturer service record or guarantee manufacturer warranty acceptance.

A few remaining questions

Before booking your Volkswagen

Can you quote from my model name alone?

We can discuss the work, but an accurate parts quote may also need the year, engine or fitted system. Two cars with the same badge can have different brakes or gearboxes. We ask for the VIN when those details need confirming.

Does a Volkswagen service include DSG oil?

Only when the quote specifically lists the applicable gearbox work. Engine oil servicing and DSG maintenance use different fluids and procedures. The fitted gearbox and its actual maintenance requirements determine whether a DSG service is due.

Can you repair an imported ID model?

Contact us with the vehicle specification and requested work before booking. We confirm service acceptance individually. This page does not advertise traction-battery repair, charging-system repair or access to manufacturer-controlled software for every imported vehicle.

Will a DSG oil change fix jerking or a gearbox warning?

A due fluid service is maintenance, not a confirmed repair for jerking or lost drive. We check the exact gearbox, fault information, fluid or leak concerns and clutch or control operation before recommending work. Avoid repeatedly driving to test severe slipping or loss of drive.

Do you use Volkswagen dealer diagnostic software?

The workshop uses AUTEL or suitable car-specific diagnostic equipment with physical testing. ODIS access, component protection, keys and manufacturer-controlled software functions are confirmed for the exact request. A general scan does not promise every dealer procedure.

How long will my Volkswagen repair take?

The confirmed work and parts availability determine timing. A due service or pad replacement differs from a DSG removal, body repair or imported component order. We explain assessment, workshop work and parts delivery separately, then agree the expected collection time.

What parts and warranty terms will my quote show?

The quote identifies the supplied parts and complete fitted work. Genuine, OEM-equivalent or suitable aftermarket parts may be available; rebuilt or used assemblies need their condition stated. Ask for the actual duration, coverage and exclusions for parts and workmanship in writing before approving a major repair.
