BMW Repair in Dubai With a Quote Before Work

Your BMW is losing coolant again, or a drivetrain warning has interrupted the drive. Is this a small repair or something expensive? We’ll inspect the car, explain what we find and give you a written quote before work starts.

Free visual assessmentAccessible initial checks. Computer diagnosis is priced separately.
AED 350–600Many engine oil and filter services, including labor and 5% VAT. Confirm your engine’s requirements.
  • Quote before repairs
  • Genuine and alternative parts
  • Pickup by arrangement

Have the model, year and mileage handy. A photo of the warning helps too.

The diagnosis should
make sense to you.
We’ll explain the findings and repair estimate before you approve the job.

Tell us when it happens

A drivetrain warning doesn’t automatically mean a new gearbox

That message can sound alarming. The fault may involve the engine or another part of the driveline, so the scan needs to be read alongside the way the car behaves. What changed just before the warning appeared?

It hesitates or runs roughly

A misfire or boost problem can feel like a transmission fault from the driver’s seat. Fault codes, live readings and ignition or fuel tests help tell them apart.

You’re topping up coolant again

Tell us how often and whether you’ve noticed a puddle or a temperature warning. A leaking hose and an internal engine fault need very different repairs.

It shakes when braking or turning

When the vibration starts matters. Brakes, tires, suspension and the xDrive transfer case need different tests. “It shakes” alone isn’t enough to pick a part.

It starts slowly or won’t stay cool

Mention an overnight battery drain or AC that warms up in traffic. The conditions help us reproduce the problem instead of testing a car that seems fine that morning.

What to budget

BMW service and repair prices in Dubai

Use these estimates to plan the visit. All figures are in AED and include 5% VAT. Your engine, fitted equipment, parts choice and inspection findings determine the written quote.

All estimates include the stated parts, labor and 5% VAT. Read each inclusion and exclusion. Complete adaptive air struts, M/V8 applications, high-voltage work and transmission fluid/filter services are quoted against the VIN and fitted equipment.

Routine service and wear

Work and included itemsEstimated AED
Initial fault diagnosisControl-module scan and the first agreed tests for your complaint. Longer investigations, dismantling and repairs need a separate go-ahead.150–350
Engine oil and filter serviceCorrectly specified oil, a compatible new filter, labor and final checks. Covers many 6–8 liter or specific-approval services. Engines needing more oil can cost more.350–600
Conventional brake padsNew premium aftermarket pads and fitting on one axle. Discs, a wear sensor and caliper repairs cost extra. M brake systems are quoted individually.300–1,500
Conventional pads and discsTwo new discs, one pad set and fitting on one axle, using quality aftermarket parts. Sensor and caliper work cost extra. Excludes carbon ceramic brakes.650–2,500
Brake fluid replacementThe specified fluid, replacement labor and routine checks. Repairing an ABS or hydraulic fault is a separate job.150–350
Cooling system flush and refillSpecified coolant, flushing, filling and bleeding for more involved or higher-capacity systems. Fixing a leak costs extra.400–800
Suspension arm or jointOne confirmed worn arm or joint, replaced with a compatible new aftermarket part, including fitting. Alignment and other worn parts cost extra.400–1,500
One replacement air springOne compatible new aftermarket air spring, routine fitting, leak and ride-height checks. This is the spring only, not a complete adaptive damper/strut. Compressor, valve block and other leaks are separate.1,800–5,000+

Fault repairs and major work

Work and included itemsEstimated AED
Coolant pump replacementBudget for one compatible new aftermarket pump, normal fitting, coolant refill and final checks. A thermostat, extra hoses or damage caused by overheating adds to the quote.1,500–4,000
12V AGM battery and registrationOne new compatible AGM battery, routine fitting and required replacement registration. A change in battery capacity or technology may need separately quoted coding. Repeated-drain diagnosis and a second battery are separate.750–1,600+
Conventional AC compressor replacementA compatible new aftermarket compressor, routine fitting, specified compressor oil, refrigerant and performance checks on selected conventional systems. Contamination cleanup, a condenser/drier or hybrid electric compressor requires a separate quote.1,800–3,500
Identified automatic gearbox repairA confirmed external pan/connector-seal leak or separately serviceable valve-body component, including specified replacement parts, routine removal/refitting, required fluid and checks. The quote identifies the repair. Internal overhaul and a complete gearbox are excluded.1,500–4,500
Selected automatic gearbox rebuildPlanning budget for a repairable conventional automatic, including removal/refitting, agreed overhaul parts, specified fluid and final setup/testing. The dismantling estimate identifies worn clutches, seals and any converter or hard-part work. Extensive hard-part damage can exceed this range.3,500–10,000+
Cylinder head gasket repairSelected repairable four- or six-cylinder engines, including head removal/refitting, gasket, required bolts/seals, specified fluids and final checks. Pressure testing or machining, a damaged head, additional timing parts and V8/M applications are priced separately before approval.2,900–7,800
Selected engine overhaulPlanning budget for a repairable four- or six-cylinder engine, including removal/refitting, agreed internal parts, assembly, specified fluids and checks. After dismantling, the estimate must itemize machining and damaged major components. V8/M engines and replacement engines need individual estimates.14,500–39,000

Diagnosis is separate unless included in your quote. These are planning estimates for the work described, not fixed packages for every BMW. A + means the total can exceed the upper figure. For internal engine or gearbox work, agree on the dismantling charge, what happens if you decline the repair, and the complete fitted estimate before proceeding.

Before you compare two brake quotes

One may cover pads. The other may include new discs. Look for the parts manufacturer, number of discs and wear sensor, then check labor and VAT. It’s an easy difference to miss when you’re comparing prices on your phone.

Model and parts compatibility

Two 320i badges can hide very different engines

You’ve found a price for “a BMW 320i service.” Useful, but which year and engine? Your VIN, engine version and fitted equipment tell us much more than the badge when choosing oil, brakes or a replacement pump.

Let us know if it’s a GCC car or an import. Modifications and previous repairs matter too, especially when parts or software have changed.

1 to 4 SeriesIncluding F30 and G20
Oil services, cooling leaks, ignition faults, brakes and suspension. Tell us the engine and whether it has xDrive so the quote fits your car.
5 to 8 SeriesIncluding F10 and G30
Engine, electrical and comfort-system faults. Options such as adaptive dampers or air suspension change the job. A V8 also has different labor and parts costs.
X1 to X7Including F15 and G05 X5
Cooling, brakes, suspension and driveline repairs. An X badge doesn’t mean the car has air suspension. We identify what’s fitted before pricing it.
M and M PerformanceIncluding M2 M3 and M4
These need the correct performance-model fluids and components. M Sport trim alone doesn’t mean you have an M engine or a particular brake package.
Hybrid and electricIncluding i3 i4 and i8
Tell us the exact powertrain and requested work first. A brake service, 12V battery fault and high-voltage repair call for different equipment and qualified support.

Engine oil and coolant leaks

Topping it up again won’t explain where it went

There’s a point when another bottle of coolant stops feeling like a solution. If the level keeps falling, the useful next step is finding the leak. An oil smell or damp patch under the engine deserves the same attention.

Keep a photo of the warning

Take it while parked and note when it appeared. Leave the fault memory intact for the inspection. Please don’t drive an overheating car just to show us what happens.

Find the coolant leak before replacing the pump

A pressure test can help locate a leak around a hose, expansion tank, radiator or housing. Rising temperature also calls for checks of coolant circulation, pump operation and fan control. The puddle alone doesn’t identify the failed part.

If the pump does need replacing, allow AED 1,500–4,000 for the work in the price table. A coolant flush is a different job. It won’t seal a leak.

Oil leaks and an engine that runs roughly

Oil can spread across the engine and make the source hard to spot. Tracing it to a cover, seal or housing helps avoid paying to replace a part that wasn’t leaking.

For a misfire or loss of power, the fault memory and live readings guide ignition, fuel-pressure, intake and boost tests. A VANOS code concerns BMW’s variable camshaft timing system. It still needs investigation before recommending a solenoid or timing-chain repair.

When an engine repair becomes a bigger decision

If internal damage is suspected, compression or leak-down testing may be needed to assess cylinder sealing. Sometimes the cylinder head can be repaired. More extensive damage may make a rebuild or replacement worth comparing.

Ask for the complete fitted cost, replacement engine condition and warranty terms. Missing accessories or setup work can change an attractive initial price. Our BMW engine repair page explains those options in more detail.

BMW servicing and maintenance

The service reminder is on but the car feels fine

That can happen. Maintenance is often due before you feel a problem. On equipped BMWs, Condition Based Service, or CBS, identifies due items. The service history and maintenance requirements tell us what else belongs on the job.

More than the words fully synthetic

The oil needs the right BMW approval, viscosity and quantity for your engine. A familiar brand name isn’t enough. The filter has to match too.

Air filters, cabin filters and spark plugs are added when the service requirements or inspection justify them, with the correct specification and a price you’ve agreed.

What else needs attention while it’s here

The visit is a chance to check brake wear, tires, leaks and suspension play. You should be able to tell urgent work from routine maintenance and an optional recommendation on the quote.

Even tire rotation depends on the car. A staggered wheel setup may use different front and rear sizes, so swapping them around isn’t a universal service extra.

Keep the invoice as well as the reset

Resetting a reminder is quick. It doesn’t change the oil. Your invoice should list the service items completed, fitted parts and oil specification. Reminders are reset after the work.

If you need an official BMW digital service-history entry, ask before booking. That is separate from resetting CBS.

Bought the car without a full service history?

Bring whatever records you have. We’d start with the car’s condition, overdue essentials and confirmed faults, then agree the order of work. Replacing everything at once is rarely a useful starting conversation.

Compare the scheduled BMW service items or the specific oil and filter service before booking.

Automatic transmission and xDrive

Is it a gear change or a shudder on a tight turn?

Both can feel like “the gearbox is going,” but they lead to different checks. Tell us whether it happens during a shift, when you first pull away or while turning slowly into a parking space.

Harsh shifts and hesitation

Gearbox service repair or replacement

First, identify the transmission. A ZF 8HP automatic and a dual-clutch gearbox have different service requirements. Fault data, fluid leaks, shift behavior and learned control settings help decide what work is justified.

  • A fluid service may be suitable for a serviceable gearbox, using the specified fluid, filter or pan and filling procedure.
  • A targeted repair addresses an identified component that can be repaired separately.
  • A rebuild or replacement may be needed when inspection confirms internal damage.

We wouldn’t sell an oil change as a cure for worn internal parts. Fluids, seals, setup and testing belong in the complete repair quote.

For a supported ZF transmission, use the correct application, specified fluid and filling procedure. The ZF oil and service-kit guidance explains the available service materials.

xDrive judder at low speed

The tires belong in this diagnosis too

For the specific models and transfer case listed in BMW’s xDrive shudder bulletin, tire inspection is part of the initial checks. This is not a diagnosis for every xDrive BMW. The transfer case shares drive between the axles, and tire fitment and wear affect its operation.

This doesn’t mean all four sidewalls must show the same size. An approved staggered setup can have different front and rear sizes. What matters is the correct combination for that car.

Once that’s checked, the next steps can include transfer-case fluid, control and mechanical checks. A fluid change, adaptation procedure or replacement should follow the findings, not the size of the vibration.

Allow AED 1,500–4,500 for the targeted gearbox work described above. A rebuild or replacement needs its own quote after inspection. Read more about BMW transmission repair and servicing.

Brake pads discs and sensors

New pads don’t always mean new discs

Being told you need both can make a simple brake visit feel expensive. Sometimes both are necessary. Disc measurements, surface condition, pad wear and caliper operation should explain why.

  • Pads alone can be an option when the discs and other hardware are still serviceable.
  • Pads and discs are priced by axle when wear or damage justifies replacing both.
  • A wear sensor or brake fluid should appear as a separate item if needed.

A pedal pulse or pull under braking may need checks beyond the pads, including the tires and suspension. M and carbon ceramic brake systems also need their own inspection and parts quote.

For conventional brakes, two discs and a pad set on one axle are estimated at AED 650–2,500 including VAT, using the aftermarket parts and fitting listed above.

For axle, sensor and parts choices, see our BMW brake repair and replacement details.

Suspension work. Coil springs, adaptive dampers and air suspension require different parts and repairs.

Suspension knocks and sagging

A knock over bumps or one corner sitting low

A loose joint, worn bushing, link, mount or damper can produce a knock. The inspection needs to locate the movement. Wheel alignment won’t tighten a worn joint. Repair comes first, with alignment afterward when required.

A BMW with air suspension that sinks overnight needs a leak check of the springs, lines and valve system, as well as a compressor assessment. Replacing the compressor while leaving the leak just gives the new part the same problem to fight.

Whether one side or a pair needs replacement depends on the part and the condition of the other side. There’s more on this in our BMW suspension repair guide.

Budget AED 400–1,500 for one arm or joint, or AED 1,800–5,000+ for one new aftermarket air spring with the work listed above. A complete adaptive air strut includes the damper and needs its own fitment-based quote.

AC cooling and 12V battery faults

Warm air in traffic and a car that won’t start

Neither is much fun when you’re trying to get to work. Tell us when the trouble began and what’s already been tried, even if it was just a regas or a jump-start.

The AC works until you stop moving

You leave with cold air, then sit at a signal and the cabin warms up. That detail is useful. Condenser airflow and fan operation need checking alongside refrigerant pressure and compressor control.

If hardly any air reaches the vents, the cabin filter, blower and air flaps need attention too. That’s different from air flowing strongly but staying warm.

  • Test the vent temperature in the conditions you describe.
  • Look for a leak if the refrigerant charge is low.
  • Use the refrigerant and compressor oil specified for the car.

We’d rather explain a confirmed leak than send you away needing another top-up. If the compressor has failed, the quote also needs to account for contamination and associated work. Hybrid and electric systems require the right procedures.

See the BMW AC repair options.

The new battery went flat as well

That’s a reason to look beyond the battery. Charging performance, connections and battery condition come first. An unexplained overnight discharge may need a parasitic-draw test, which looks for electrical use after the car should have gone to sleep.

Many BMWs have an Intelligent Battery Sensor, or IBS, to help monitor the battery. Its readings help the diagnosis. A battery warning on its own doesn’t prove the battery has failed.

  • Choose the correct battery technology, capacity and physical size.
  • Register the replacement where required.
  • Check whether a capacity or technology change also needs coding.

A new compatible AGM battery with routine fitting and required replacement registration is estimated at AED 750–1,600+, including 5% VAT. A capacity/type change, difficult access or additional fault diagnosis can add to the work. See our BMW battery replacement and setup details.

Genuine and alternative parts

What exactly is going into your BMW?

A parts description should tell you more than “good quality.” Ask for the manufacturer and part number, then compare the fitted price and warranty.

Genuine BMW
BMW-branded parts selected for your car, subject to availability. We’ll explain when the specification or repair makes this the sensible choice.
OE supplier
A part from an identified original-equipment supplier. The supplier’s name alone doesn’t mean every product it sells is identical to the BMW-boxed part. The actual part number and fitment still matter.
Aftermarket
A suitable new alternative from a named manufacturer. Price matters, of course, but so do fit, construction and warranty, especially on brakes and suspension.
Our view on repair versus replacement

If a failed component can be serviced properly and the rest of the assembly is sound, repair is worth discussing. If damage or the complete fitted cost makes that poor value, we’ll explain the replacement option and why.

Plan the handover

Send the model, year, mileage, warning photo and previous repair history. We confirm the initial checks and charge before you leave the car. A booked routine service may be completed during the visit if the correct parts are ready. The actual slot and collection time are confirmed when booking.

Cold-start faults or an overnight battery drain may need the car left with us. Major repairs and imported parts take longer. After diagnosis, we update the completion estimate and explain any change before extra work.

Pickup and drop-off depend on your location, vehicle condition and availability. We confirm the transport method, timing and any charge first. An unsafe or immobile BMW may need recovery.

What the repair warranty covers

Before approval, your written estimate identifies any supplier parts cover and workshop labor cover, their duration or mileage limit, and the relevant conditions. Coverage depends on the selected repair and parts. Keep the invoice. If the repaired concern returns, contact us with the invoice and symptom so we can arrange the next check.

Manufacturer warranty, recalls and service plans are separate. Check eligible work with the authorized BMW network using your VIN and market details.

Before you book

BMW repair questions before the visit

Whether you can drive it here, what the inspection costs and how long you’ll be without the car are fair questions. Here’s what we can tell you before seeing the BMW.

How much does a BMW oil service cost in Dubai?

Allow AED 350–600 including 5% VAT for many 6–8 liter or specific-approval oil and filter services. That covers the specified oil, a compatible filter, labor and checks. Your engine’s oil requirement decides the exact price.

Need plugs, cabin filters or brake fluid as well? Those are separate items. You’ll see them on the quote before they’re added.

What can you check for free?

The initial visual assessment of accessible areas is free. A computer scan and the first agreed fault-finding tests are estimated at AED 150–350 including VAT.

Some faults take longer to find, particularly a battery drain that happens overnight or a noise that comes and goes. We agree any further testing or dismantling with you first.

Can I drive with a drivetrain malfunction warning?

It depends on the message and how the car is behaving. Follow the instructions on the dashboard. If the engine shakes severely, overheats, loses drive or shows an oil-pressure warning, stop safely and arrange recovery.

Even if it still drives normally, call before setting off on a long trip. A photo of the exact warning, taken while parked, is more useful than “an engine light came on.”

Should I service my BMW every 5,000 or 10,000 km?

Neither distance is a rule for every BMW. The engine, year, maintenance schedule and service history matter. On cars with Condition Based Service, we check what’s due on the display alongside the vehicle’s requirements and condition.

A fresh leak or warning needs attention even when the next service reminder is months away.

Why does a replacement BMW battery need registration?

Many BMWs need the battery replacement registered so the car’s energy-management system knows a new battery has been fitted. Changing its capacity or technology can also require coding. Those are two different jobs.

Ask whether both the battery and the necessary setup are in the price. If the old battery kept going flat, the reason still needs checking.

Can I choose genuine BMW or aftermarket parts?

Yes, where a suitable option is available. We can quote genuine BMW parts, identified original-equipment supplier parts or suitable quality aftermarket alternatives.

Ask for the manufacturer, part number and warranty. The word “OEM” on its own doesn’t tell you enough about what will be fitted.

How long will I be without the car?

A booked routine service can often be completed during the visit if the parts are ready. A fault that only appears on a cold start may need the car left overnight. Engine and gearbox repairs take longer.

Once we know the work and parts availability, we’ll discuss a realistic handover time so you can plan around it.

Can you work on my BMW hybrid or electric car?

Tell us the exact model and what needs doing before arranging transport. We’ll confirm whether the equipment and qualified support for that job are available. Brake or suspension work is different from opening a high-voltage system.

A plug-in hybrid can still need engine oil and filter servicing. A fully electric BMW doesn’t.

What warranty will I get?

Your written estimate identifies any supplier parts warranty and workshop labor cover for the selected repair, including duration or mileage, conditions and claim arrangements. There is no single term that applies to every part and repair. Keep the invoice and contact us if the repaired concern returns.

BMW manufacturer-warranty work and Service Inclusive eligibility are separate. Check those with the authorized BMW network using your VIN.

Can you collect the car?

Pickup and drop-off are available by arrangement, subject to your location and availability. Ask about the collection time and any charge when booking.

If the BMW overheats, won’t drive or has unsafe brakes, tell us first. It may need recovery rather than someone driving it to our Al Quoz 4 workshop.

Where is your BMW workshop and when is it open?

Visit AMF AUTO SERVICES LLC at 39, Al Quoz Industrial Area 4, Dubai. Workshop hours are Monday to Friday, 5 AM to 10 PM, and Saturday, 5 AM to 6 PM. The workshop is closed Sunday. Call 050 608 7150 to confirm an appointment, or use the workshop directions.

Are you an authorized BMW dealer?

No. My Car Repair Dubai is an independent workshop operated by AMF AUTO SERVICES LLC. We explain the available parts and repair choices before work. Manufacturer recalls, warranty campaigns and plan-covered work should be checked with the authorized BMW network.
