Car Painting in Dubai

Repair a scraped bumper, a deep scratch or worn paintwork without repainting sound panels unnecessarily. We explain the preparation, colour matching and finish needed for your car.

At My Car Repair Dubai in Al Quoz, we assess the damage before recommending polishing, panel painting or a full respray. Bumper repaint estimates start around AED 450, with the final quote based on repair and finish.

Start with the damage

Does it need new paint?

Repainting is one option. The depth of the mark, condition of the clear coat and shape of the panel determine what is worth doing.

Surface marks and light swirls

Assess for polishing

Some paint transfer and light clear-coat marks on gloss finishes can improve with suitable car polishing. Missing colour needs a different repair. Matte and satin paint must not be treated with ordinary gloss polish.

A dent with sound paint

Check paintless repair

Suitable dents may be corrected while retaining the existing finish. Size, access, creases and paint condition affect whether paintless dent repair is possible.

Exposed primer, chips or peeling

Plan preparation and paint

Missing paint, deep scratches and failing clear coat usually need refinishing. Dents, cracks or corrosion must be addressed before the surface is painted.

Estimated car painting costs in Dubai

These estimates include paint materials, preparation for the work described, refinishing labor and 5% VAT. Pearl and multi-stage colors, previous poor repairs and extra bodywork can cost more.

Where blending is needed, we include it in the total before you decide; the blending estimate above is not an automatic extra.

Keep more of your original paint

Touch-up or panel repaint?

A touch-up can cover a small chip, but its edge or texture may remain visible. Refinishing a larger area can give a more even appearance when that matters to you. We assess the existing paint before recommending either option.

Several marks to fix?

Send the areas together. We can plan shared preparation and explain whether combining the work reduces repeat labor.

Working to a budget?

We explain the difference between improving a small chip with a touch-up and refinishing the panel for a more even appearance. You choose with the likely result and full price in view.

The details you notice afterward

Color matching goes beyond the paint code

Your paint code is a starting point. Age, previous repairs and the way metallic or pearl pigments reflect light can affect how a repaired panel looks beside the original finish. A colour sample or spray-out card helps compare the chosen formula with the car before the panel is painted. This is especially useful when a metallic or pearl finish changes appearance with the viewing angle.

We discuss whether the repair needs color blended into a neighboring panel. That is why two quotes for the same scratch may cover different amounts of work.

01

Check the existing finish

We inspect fading, previous refinishing and differences between neighboring panels.

02

Agree the blend area

We identify the damaged panel and any neighbouring area needed for the colour transition. Blending the colour and applying the clear coat are different stages, so the quote identifies the panels involved in each.

03

Review under suitable light

We review color, gloss and texture together, including the finish from different angles.

From damage to a finished panel

Preparing and repainting the panel

  1. Inspect and agree

We assess the paint and body damage, then agree the panels, repair method, price and collection time with you.

  2. Repair and prepare

Repair suitable body damage and remove failed coatings before preparing a sound surface. Bare metal, plastic and existing paint need compatible preparation and primer. Nearby trim is protected or removed where the job requires it.

  3. Refinish and allow curing

Apply the specified paint system, including the colour and clear coat where required. Flash-off is the interval between coats that lets the coating release solvent or water. Product instructions determine these intervals and the drying method; extra paint is not a substitute for correct preparation.

  4. Finish and review

We check the finish and reassembly, review the repair with you and explain aftercare at handover.

Bumpers with parking or radar sensors

Sensor faces and radar areas cannot automatically be prepared or painted like the rest of the bumper. The vehicle’s repair instructions govern permitted refinishing, paint build-up and any replacement or calibration. Mention fitted parking and driver-assistance equipment before the repair is priced.

Repair only what needs it

One panel or the whole car?

The right choice depends on how widespread the damage is and what result you want.

Localized damage

A bumper or panel repair can address a specific area while preserving sound original paint elsewhere. We explain any blending that is needed around it.

If the panel is distorted or the bumper is cracked, discuss body repair as part of the quote.

A full exterior repaint

Useful when deterioration affects several panels or you want a consistent exterior finish. We explain which handles, trim and lamps will be removed, along with any openings or hidden areas excluded from the price.

A same-color exterior respray and a complete color change are different jobs with different preparation and cost.

A different registered color

Check permission and registration requirements before the work begins. Dubai’s official guidance sets out the color-change process for licensed vehicles.

After the respray

Let fresh paint cure before adding protection

Collection time and full cure time are different. Follow the paint system’s advice for washing, polishing, wax, ceramic coating or film after the repair.

Clear coat belongs to the paint finish. Paint protection film, or PPF, is a separate layer intended to reduce certain surface and stone-chip damage. A ceramic coating can make routine cleaning easier, but it does not provide the same physical barrier as film. Neither makes the car damage-proof or is automatically included in a respray. Apply either only when the new paint and the selected product are compatible.

We explain the initial care and any warranty terms before work. We provide the repair invoice, agreed work and aftercare advice for your records.

Car painting questions

How much does it cost to repaint a car in Dubai?

A same-color full exterior respray is estimated at AED 3,500–8,000 or more, including 5% VAT. A bumper repaint is around AED 450–950, a door or fender AED 500–1,000, and a hood or roof AED 700–1,400. Body repairs, premium paint finishes and hidden areas can add to the price.

Can a scratch be polished out instead?

Some light marks or paint transfer can improve with suitable polishing. If the scratch has removed color or exposed primer or metal, polishing cannot replace the missing paint. We inspect the damage before recommending a repair.

Will the repaired panel match the rest of the car?

The paint code, existing finish, previous repairs and lighting all matter. Matching may involve blending color into an adjacent panel. We explain which panels need refinishing and the expected result before work rather than promising an identical result from a code alone.

Do I need to repaint the whole car?

Usually not for isolated damage. A panel or bumper repair may be sufficient. A full respray is considered when deterioration is widespread or the desired result calls for it, with the included work agreed after inspection.

Does full painting include door openings and hidden areas?

Only if the quote says so. An exterior respray may exclude door openings, engine-bay surfaces and the underside of panels. A color change can need more dismantling and coverage. We list the covered and excluded areas clearly before work.

When can I wash or ceramic-coat freshly painted panels?

Follow the paint system’s curing and aftercare instructions supplied with your repair. There is no single wait that fits every product and drying method. Ask before using polish, wax, ceramic coating or PPF.

Can you quote from WhatsApp photos?

Photos help us discuss likely repair options and an initial estimate. Send a close view and a wider view of each damaged area. A physical inspection confirms hidden damage, paint condition and the final repair price.

Is paint protection film required after repainting?

No. PPF is an optional protection product, separate from the paint system. It must be suitable for the surface and applied only when the fresh finish is ready under the relevant product instructions.
