Choose the Subaru family you drive

Two cars with the same badge can need different oil, transmission procedures and brake parts. Find your model group, then choose the work you need.

Everyday SUVs and crossovers

Forester, XV and Crosstrek

Maintenance, AC, suspension and wheel-bearing work. We match the oil, parts and service to your engine, gearbox and any hybrid equipment.

Hatchback, saloon and estate models

Impreza, Legacy and Outback

Oil leaks, braking, chassis wear and transmission concerns. Earlier conventional automatics and later CVT versions need different fluid and repair plans.

Turbocharged performance models

WRX and WRX STI

Engine, cooling, clutch and driveline repairs. Performance brakes, fitted modifications and the original specification affect the parts and checks required.

Rear-wheel-drive sports coupé

BRZ

Manual clutch work or conventional automatic servicing, plus brakes, tyres and suspension. BRZ gearbox work is separate from a Lineartronic CVT service.

For a Levorg, Ascent, Tribeca, older import or a modified car, ask about the required job and parts before visiting. Hybrid and Solterra electric vehicles need a separate acceptance check for high-voltage or charging work.

Service your Subaru for what is due

Start with the oil and filter job. Add other maintenance according to your model, mileage and service record.

Oil and filter service inclusions

  • Correct engine oilThe required grade, specification and fill quantity for your engine.
  • Replacement filterA compatible engine oil filter and the normal consumables needed for the job.
  • Installation workDrain and refill, filter fitting and completion checks. A flush or additive is a separate decision.
  • Final oil levelConfirm the level and look for visible leakage after the work. A continuing leak becomes a repair item.
Other items to include when due

Add these when due or needed

  • Air and cabin filters, spark plugs and brake-fluid replacement.
  • Cooling-system maintenance and the correct gearbox or differential fluid service.
  • Tyre, brake and suspension inspection, with worn parts quoted separately.
  • Timing-belt work where that engine uses a belt, or assessment of a reported timing-system concern.
Your model’s service schedule

Follow the schedule for your Subaru

Use the schedule for the vehicle’s model year and original market. A turbocharged WRX, BRZ and naturally aspirated Forester need their own specifications. The model’s belt or chain arrangement also matters, so a timing-belt interval cannot be applied to every Subaru.

Bring the previous service invoice if you have it. Our oil and filter service explains oil selection and the difference between an oil change and a wider maintenance visit.

Budget for the actual job

Service and repair prices with clear inclusions

Start with the work and its unit. One axle means the two front brakes or the two rear brakes. An investigation fee covers the agreed checks, rather than the repair that follows.

Subaru engine, gearbox, clutch, AC and bodywork estimates depend on the fitted components, access and damage. Genuine parts and performance brake systems can change the total.

Three different gearbox families

Choose transmission work for the gearbox fitted

Lineartronic CVT, a conventional automatic and a manual gearbox have different fluids and repair choices. The BRZ is rear-wheel drive, while AWD Subaru models also need attention to the relevant differential and driveline components.

A shudder or hesitation can involve the engine, mounts or driveline as well as the transmission. We assess that distinction before recommending a gearbox replacement.

Blue Subaru BRZ viewed from the front and side
Gearbox familyMaintenance workRepair choices
Lineartronic CVTUse the fluid and level-setting procedure for the exact transmission. The service schedule and condition determine the work due.Investigate warnings, leaks, shudder and delayed engagement. A confirmed leak or control fault can need a targeted repair, while internal damage may require rebuild or replacement assessment.
Conventional automaticFound on automatic BRZ versions and some older Subaru models. Its specified ATF service is separate from a CVT-fluid service.Assess engagement, gear changes, fluid condition and controls. Repair suitability depends on the faulty component and the condition of the assembly.
Manual gearboxCheck the specified gear oil, clutch operation and relevant hydraulic system. A clutch is a separate wear assembly from the gearbox.Clutch slip can need clutch work. Difficult engagement or noise may involve hydraulics, linkage or internal components. Quote the required parts, access and flywheel work where needed.

AWD and differential work

On AWD models, investigate driveline leaks, bearing noise, driveshafts and differential concerns alongside the transmission. Keep the tyre specification and permitted circumference variation consistent with the vehicle’s requirements. A gearbox-fluid change does not automatically include every differential.

Service, repair or replacement

Maintenance fluid replacement serves a different purpose from correcting mechanical damage. Where an assembly is needed, compare the repair scope, a suitable remanufactured unit and a correctly matched replacement, with condition and warranty terms stated. Our transmission repair service explains these options.

Match the engine repair to the damage

A boxer-engine leak, misfire or overheating concern does not automatically mean a full rebuild. We identify the affected system and discuss how much work it needs.

Targeted engine repair

Leaks or running faults

Repair a confirmed seal, gasket, ignition, fuel or intake fault when the remaining engine is serviceable. The quote includes the affected component and access work.

Cooling or cylinder-head work

Check the extent of damage

Separate hose, radiator, pump, thermostat and fan faults from internal leakage. Head or gasket repairs depend on the findings and engine condition.

Rebuild or replace the engine

Compare the complete fitted job

For confirmed internal damage, compare an overhaul with a compatible replacement. Include the unit’s condition, installation and related cooling or lubrication repairs.

Turbo or modified Subaru

Tell us about tuning and changed hardware. Boost leaks, oil supply and cooling may affect the repair investigation.

Stop safely for an overheating instruction, persistent oil-pressure warning or a sudden severe mechanical noise. Arrange advice and suitable transport before continuing the journey.

Choose brake and chassis work by condition

Restore confident braking and a settled ride by repairing the worn part and including the related work it needs. A complete axle or assembly is not the only option for every concern.

Close inspection of a brake disc friction surface

A brake inspection considers pad wear, disc condition and caliper operation together. If braking becomes weak, the pedal sinks or a wheel overheats, stop safely and call before arranging transport.

Pads alone or pads and discs

Serviceable discs can remain with new pads. Discs below their limits or with unsuitable damage need replacement. The quote identifies the axle and brake specification. WRX STI and other performance brake hardware require the correctly matched parts.

Suspension, steering and wheel bearings

Knocks and uneven tyre wear can involve arms, bushes, joints, dampers or steering parts. A road-speed hum may need wheel-bearing assessment. We distinguish an individual worn component from work on a larger assembly, with alignment included when the repair requires it.

Tyres, alignment and wheel balance

Match the tyre size, load and speed specification to the vehicle. On AWD cars, differences in wear and rolling circumference need particular attention. Balancing addresses rotating-wheel vibration, while alignment addresses wheel angles. Neither replaces a damaged suspension part.

AC, electrical and bodywork repairs

Choose the area that needs attention. We agree the parts and work before repair, including any specialist setup.

AC and cabin cooling

Leak repair, recharge or component work

Warm air needs assessment of cooling performance, refrigerant leakage and the controls. A failed compressor, condenser or evaporator is a different job from a correctly specified recharge.

Airflow and cabin condition

Weak airflow, smell or water entry can involve filters, the blower, drainage or air distribution. Choose cleaning or replacement against the actual finding.

Starting and electrics

Battery, charging and accessory faults

Check the battery condition, supply connections and charging system. Recurring discharge or an intermittent warning may need electrical testing beyond replacing a battery.

Warning lights and driver assistance

Sensor, wiring and control faults need identification before parts are ordered. EyeSight or camera-related work requires the relevant procedures and any specialist setup to be agreed.

Bodywork and finish

Dents, paint and collision damage

A suitable dent may be repaired while retaining paint. Damaged paint, mounts or panels can need refinishing or replacement. Concealed damage can change the estimate after access.

Glass, trim and interior repairs

Replacement glass must suit the fitted equipment. Seat and roof-lining work should preserve safety features. Our collision repair service explains the wider repair and approval arrangements.

Compare compatible parts and the installed total

A useful parts choice changes fit, expected service life, finish or cost. It should be easy to see what you are approving.

Parts options for your repair

Genuine Subaru parts

Genuine Subaru parts are an option when the repair and available component call for them.

Suitable aftermarket parts

Compare a named manufacturer and a part matched to your Subaru. Performance systems may need a specific application.

Used or remanufactured assemblies

Suitable used or remanufactured assemblies can be considered when available. The quote states condition, compatibility and warranty.

Questions before booking your Subaru workshop visit

Start with your model and a short explanation. A previous invoice or warning photograph helps when it is relevant to the work.

Can you service a BRZ or WRX STI?

We accept service and repair enquiries for BRZ, WRX and WRX STI alongside the everyday Subaru range. The fitted gearbox, performance brakes, engine generation and any modifications determine the parts and job. Describe the work before arranging a visit.

Does every Subaru use a CVT?

No. Subaru models can have Lineartronic CVT, manual or conventional automatic transmissions. The automatic BRZ uses a conventional automatic, and BRZ is rear-wheel drive. Identify the actual gearbox before choosing a fluid service or repair.

What does a Subaru service include?

An agreed oil service covers the specified oil, a compatible filter, labour and final checks. Scheduled maintenance can also include filters, plugs, fluids and inspection items when due. These additional items are named in the quotation rather than assumed to be included.

Can I book an imported or modified Subaru?

Contact us with the model, original market and requested job. Tell us about changes that affect the engine, gearbox, brakes or suspension. Parts availability, repair procedures and specialist requirements are checked for that vehicle.

Can you arrange pickup in Dubai?

Pickup and drop-off can be requested by arrangement, depending on location and availability. Tell us if the car cannot drive safely. Recovery requirements and any charges are agreed before collection.

Will independent repairs affect my manufacturer warranty?

My Car Repair Dubai is independent. Check your vehicle’s warranty terms before paying for a potentially covered fault. Manufacturer warranty repairs, campaigns and protected software work may need the authorised Subaru route.
