From the symptom to the right repair
An Ariel fault needs checks against its actual build. These symptoms guide the inspection; they do not mean every Atom or Nomad has the same problem.
Temperature rising or coolant loss
Checks Check the circuit for leaks, fan operation, airflow and the fitted radiator or cooling upgrades.
Repair options Repair the confirmed hose, fan, radiator, thermostat or pump fault. A coolant change alone will not fix a leak.
Stop safely for overheating; do not open a hot coolant cap.
Rough running or loss of power
Checks Check ignition, fuel supply, air leaks and supported ECU data. Identify a turbocharged or supercharged installation first.
Repair options Repair the confirmed electrical, ignition or air-system fault before considering major engine or boost-system work.
Avoid hard acceleration; stop for severe shaking, smoke or a red oil warning.
Brake vibration or a soft pedal
Checks Measure pads and discs; inspect calipers, hoses and fluid condition against the fitted brake package.
Repair options Choose pads, discs, fluid service or hydraulic repair from the findings. Competition pads are not an automatic road-use upgrade.
Reduced braking, a sinking pedal or a fluid leak means stop and arrange recovery.
Suspension knocks or uneven tires
Checks Inspect rod ends, joints, wheel bearings, dampers and tire condition before changing alignment settings.
Repair options Replace worn parts, then check geometry for the car and its intended road or track use.
New steering play or instability needs inspection before further driving.
Clutch slip or difficult gear selection
Checks Identify the manual or sequential gearbox, then assess clutch hydraulics, linkage and mechanical condition.
Repair options A linkage or hydraulic repair may avoid unnecessary gearbox removal. Confirmed clutch wear needs the correct kit.
Do not force gear changes or keep driving with severe slipping.
No start after storage
Checks Test the fitted low-voltage battery, terminals, grounds and starting circuit. Check the isolator if fitted.
Repair options Recharge and retest a suitable battery, replace it if failed, or trace the actual electrical fault.
A new battery will not solve an unresolved drain. Use a charger matched to its chemistry.
Stop safely when control or engine protection is at riskOverheating, a red oil-pressure warning, reduced braking, a fuel leak or unstable steering needs immediate attention. Switch off when safe and call to discuss
vehicle recovery. Keep clear of hot parts and leaking fuel.
