Know what you are paying for
A useful quote names the oil specification, quantity, filter and labor. A low headline price tells you little without those details.
For common engines using up to 5 liters of the required oil, with a suitable replacement filter, labor and final checks.
For many engines needing 6–8 liters, a more costly filter or a specific oil approval. Includes the agreed oil, filter, labor and final checks.
These estimates include 5% VAT. We confirm the exact oil product, required quantity and filter in one total before work. Engines needing more than 8 liters, special filters or higher-cost approved oils can cost more.
More than a number on a bottle
The oil specification helps explain the price differences above. Start with your engine’s requirements; Dubai’s heat alone does not mean it needs thicker oil.
Numbers such as 0W20, 5W30 and 5W40 describe viscosity, or how readily the oil flows at different temperatures. Two oils with the same grade can have different performance standards and manufacturer approvals.
Use the grade permitted for your exact engine. Do not choose a thicker oil simply because the car is in Dubai, is older or has high mileage.
API and ACEA categories set engine-oil performance requirements, while some engines also need a specific manufacturer approval. Turbocharger protection and emissions equipment can affect the choice. For a diesel with a particulate filter in the exhaust, the specified oil formulation helps limit ash deposits in that filter.
Castrol, Mobil and other oil brands offer different products. A familiar brand name alone does not establish suitability. We name the exact product and approval in your quote.
Oil capacity varies by engine and can change when the filter is replaced. The final level must be checked using the vehicle’s specified procedure, whether it has a dipstick or an electronic oil level display.
Underfilling and overfilling can cause problems. We state the required quantity in your quote and explain any additional oil before charging for it.
The oil filter captures contaminants as oil circulates. The replacement must fit the engine and meet its requirements, including the correct seals and housing arrangement.

From arrival to handover
Once the oil and filter are agreed, the job follows the vehicle’s service procedure. Final level and leak checks are part of the oil change.
Review the engine, mileage, service history and any warning messages. Confirm the oil specification, filter option and itemized quote before starting.
Use the appropriate oil removal procedure for the vehicle. Replace the oil filter and required seals or drain plug consumables, following the engine’s service requirements.
Fill with the specified oil, verify the level using the correct procedure and check the filter housing and drain area for visible leakage.
Record the completed work and the next oil service due from the vehicle’s maintenance schedule. Reset the service reminder where applicable after the oil change, and explain any separate repair recommendations before you approve them.
Plan your visit
Allow around 45–60 minutes for a straightforward oil and filter change once the car is in the bay. Access, oil-level procedures or extra diagnosis can take longer. Tell us if you plan to wait; we confirm availability and the expected collection time before your visit.
Routine service or an urgent warning
After the change, follow the car’s time or mileage interval, whichever comes first, together with its service monitoring instructions. The time limit still matters if you drive very little. There is no single interval for every car in Dubai.
Arrange an oil and filter service when the maintenance schedule or oil life monitor calls for it. Short trips, prolonged idling and dusty use may meet the manufacturer’s severe use criteria.
Check the actual maintenance schedule instead of assuming that “fully synthetic” automatically means a fixed 10,000 or 15,000 km interval.
A low level warning is different from low oil pressure. Follow the owner’s manual and have the level checked correctly. The right top up may be needed, but repeated loss needs investigation.
Adding oil does not replace an overdue oil and filter service. Oil color alone also cannot tell you whether the engine needs repair.
If the oil pressure warning stays on while the engine is running, stop in a safe place and switch the engine off. Do not keep driving to the workshop or assume a routine oil change will fix it.
Call for advice and arrange vehicle recovery if needed. A normal oil level does not rule out a pressure fault.

An oil change handles one part of scheduled maintenance. The car’s age, mileage and service history show whether inspections or other replacement items are due at the same visit.

Allow AED 200–350 for many engines using up to 5 liters, or AED 350–600 for many higher-capacity or specific-approval services. The agreed oil, replacement filter, labor and 5% VAT are included. We confirm the product, quantity and total for your engine; some specialist cars cost more.
Many modern engines require synthetic oil, but “fully synthetic” alone is not enough. The oil must have the right viscosity grade and meet the performance standards and manufacturer approvals required for your exact engine. Follow the vehicle requirements rather than selecting oil by a premium label or price alone.
Use the grade and approval specified for your engine. Dubai’s weather does not make one grade correct for every vehicle. A 5W30 oil that lacks the required manufacturer approval may be unsuitable even when its viscosity looks right.
Our oil and filter service is quoted with a replacement engine oil filter. We identify the selected filter and required seals in your quote. Air filters, cabin filters and fuel filters are different parts and are priced separately when needed.
A correct top up can address a low level, but it does not remove contaminants, replace the filter or restart the service interval. If the car regularly needs extra oil, arrange a check for leakage or oil consumption. Follow the manual if any warning appears.
An engine flush is not an automatic requirement for every oil service. The decision should follow the vehicle manufacturer’s guidance and the engine’s condition and history. We explain the reason and separate price before recommending any additive or flushing treatment.
A hybrid with a combustion engine still needs engine oil maintenance according to its schedule, even if it often runs on electric power. A fully electric vehicle has no combustion engine oil to change, although it may have other manufacturer specified fluid maintenance.
