Repair, rebuild or replace the gearbox?
The options below give you a starting point for the cost. Which one suits your car depends on the confirmed fault, the condition inside the gearbox and the parts available. A warning code alone cannot settle that choice.
A confirmed component faultTargeted repair
Suitable when testing identifies a repairable issue, such as a valve body, solenoid, seal, wiring or control problem, without evidence that a complete overhaul is needed.
We explain the test results and how the repair addresses your symptom. A simple wiring or external leak repair may cost less than this component-work range.

Internal wear or damageGearbox rebuild
The unit is removed and dismantled so worn or damaged internal parts can be assessed. A rebuild should specify the work and replacement items identified from inspection.
We agree any removal and internal inspection fee first, including the amount due if you decide to stop. If the rebuild proceeds, overlapping labor is included once.
AED 3,500–10,000+Conventional automatic rebuild, with VAT
When replacement makes senseReplacement unit
Consider a compatible new, remanufactured or available used unit when the existing gearbox is uneconomical to repair or the alternative is more practical.
A used automatic for a common Japanese or Korean car can offer a lower-cost alternative. We verify the gearbox code, supplier, condition and warranty terms. New, remanufactured and European units are quoted separately.

Only due for transmission fluid maintenance? If the gearbox is working normally and its service is due, our
gearbox oil change service covers routine fluid maintenance. Slipping or a fault warning needs investigation first; fresh fluid cannot restore worn internal parts.
