Already have a quote? Send the itemized work. We can discuss which findings and parts specifications need checking.

What changed while driving?

Start with the symptom you can describe

You don’t have to arrive with a diagnosis. “It shakes when I select Drive” tells us more than a guess at an expensive part.

Call before driving if there is overheating, an oil-pressure warning, severe shaking with a flashing engine light, loss of drive or unsafe braking. Stop safely and arrange help when needed.

Shaking, hesitation or warning lights

Tell us whether it happens at idle, under acceleration or after the engine warms up. We compare stored faults and live data with checks of ignition, air supply, wiring and mechanical condition. An error code is a starting point, not a parts order.

Warm AC or a rising temperature gauge

Cabin cooling and engine cooling are different systems. Mention which one changes, whether the car is stationary, and any leak. Pressure, fan and temperature checks help separate a cooling fault from a refrigerant or airflow issue.

Knocking, pulling or a changed brake pedal

A road test, where safe, and a physical inspection help distinguish tires, joints, brakes and mounts. We show which measurements or wear justify the repair. A description or dashboard photo cannot establish that the car is safe to drive.

V5, FRV, H530 and other Brilliance models

Your model matters before we order parts

Two Brilliance cars can need different filters, fluids and gearbox procedures. The year and original market matter as much as the badge. We ask for the VIN when a precise parts match is needed.

V5
Published Egyptian Brilliance dealer specifications include a 1.6-liter version with a five-speed manual or automatic. That is a useful example, not a specification for every V5 in Dubai. We confirm the engine and gearbox on your car.
FRV and H530
Bring the engine details and service records. The same dealer reference lists FRV manual and four-speed automatic variants. We identify the actual transmission before selecting fluid, a service procedure or replacement parts.
V3, V6 or V7
Send the year and import details with the concern. We check the fitted powertrain, electronic support and parts availability before accepting model-specific work. A V5 quote should not be treated as a V7 parts list.

Genuine and suitable alternatives

We explain the available supplier and part brand, then compare a genuine option with a verified OEM equivalent or quality aftermarket alternative where suitable. “Fits Brilliance” is not enough to place an order.

Repair or replace an assembly

A serviceable unit may allow a component repair. A used or rebuilt assembly needs its own compatibility, condition and warranty checks. For brakes and other wear items, compare suitable new parts.

Know the wait before committing

Availability is checked for your particular part. Ask for expected delivery, any deposit or cancellation conditions, fitting cost and warranty in writing. We don’t promise same-day stock before checking.

Engine and transmission decisions

Before you approve an engine or gearbox replacement

Replacing an engine or gearbox is a major decision. The test results should explain why a smaller repair will or won’t solve the fault.

A technician reviewing vehicle data on a laptop inside a car
Laptop-based vehicle testing. Support is confirmed for the Brilliance model and diagnostic function requested.

When the engine misfires or loses power

We check fault codes alongside ignition, fuel delivery and air leaks. Compression or leak-down testing may be needed if the evidence points to internal wear. On a turbocharged version, boost leaks, controls and oil supply need checking before condemning the turbo. Garrett’s turbo diagnostic guidance also explains why related engine faults should be ruled out. The fitted turbo and engine are identified separately. Tell us about any recent repair or fuel-related change.

When coolant disappears or the engine overheats

Hoses, the radiator, cap, water pump, thermostat and cooling fan can all be relevant. Testing should establish whether coolant escapes externally or there is evidence of internal leakage. Repeatedly topping up without finding the cause can leave a damaging fault unresolved. Never open the cooling system while hot.

When gear changes become harsh or delayed

We distinguish a transmission fault from an engine problem or worn mount, then check the relevant controls, fluid condition and mechanical operation. A confirmed component fault may be repairable. Internal wear can justify a rebuild or compatible replacement. A fluid change alone does not repair damaged internals.

The workshop uses AUTEL or suitable vehicle-specific scanning alongside physical tests. Access to manufacturer programming or a particular control module is checked before that work is accepted.

Planning for a larger repair

Head-gasket work AED 2,900–7,800General workshop guide for cylinder-head removal, warpage checks, a new gasket and coolant. Machining, damaged parts and additional testing can increase the total.

Transmission component repair AED 1,500–4,500For suitable, confirmed repairable faults. A conventional automatic rebuild is generally AED 3,500–10,000+. These are different jobs, selected after diagnosis.

Full engine rebuild AED 14,500–39,000A broad workshop guide for stripping, machining and rebuilding the engine with agreed new internal parts. The inspection findings determine the exact scope and estimate. Compare the car’s condition and a compatible replacement before committing.

Replacement engine or gearboxQuoted for the exact unit. Compare new, rebuilt or used availability, removal and refitting, fluids, setup, supplier warranty and exclusions. There is no meaningful single replacement price for the whole Brilliance range.

All ranges above include 5% VAT and the stated repair work. Transmission ranges include agreed repair parts, removal and refitting, fluid and routine setup. Specialist coding, cooler work and extended diagnosis can be extra. DCT-specific work is assessed separately. Ask for the written scope before dismantling.

Comfort and electrical repairs

AC cooling and starting problems

Tell us when it happens. Warm air in traffic, slow cranking and a battery that dies overnight each point us toward different checks.

Air conditioning

Get to the cause of warm air

We check the system before recommending a recharge or a compressor.

Airflow
Cabin filter, blower output and condenser airflow.
Cooling performance
Refrigerant pressures, leak evidence, fan operation and electrical controls.
The repair
Fix a confirmed leak or failed component. Repeated top-ups leave a recurring leak unresolved.
R134a service and rechargeAED 262.50–367.50
Common compressor replacementAED 1,785–3,465

Planning ranges include 5% VAT. Recharge is for a suitable system using the correct refrigerant. Compressor pricing covers a suitable unit and routine fitting. Refrigerant, dryer, flushing and contamination work are confirmed separately.

Starting and electrics

A new battery may not be the whole answer

We look at what happens when you turn the key, and what happens while the car is parked.

  • Slow or no crankingBattery condition, terminals and voltage drop.
  • Flat again after a driveCharging output and the relevant wiring.
  • Flat after standingA parasitic-draw investigation may be needed.

For a suspected module fault, we check the circuit and required programming before recommending a replacement.

Battery testing and replacement

Help us narrow it down

Does it happen cold or hot? Does the starter turn normally? Mention any recently fitted battery, radio or alarm.

Unusual mechanical noise or a significant leak? Stop repeated starting attempts and call for advice.

A sensible order for the work

Repairs to prioritize and items to monitor

Start with safety and active faults. Then plan the service items around your Brilliance’s condition and maintenance history.

Check first

Brakes, steering and suspension

Pad thickness, disc measurements, fluid and caliper condition guide brake work. For knocking or uneven tire wear, we inspect joints, bushings, mounts and dampers before recommending alignment.

If braking or handling feels unsafe, stop driving and arrange help.

Service when due

The correct oil, filters and fluids

Our oil and filter service uses the grade and quantity specified for the fitted engine. Plugs, air and cabin filters, coolant, brake fluid and transmission service depend on the schedule and condition. Timing-drive work needs the exact engine details.

Plan after inspection

Keep serviceable parts in use

Pads alone can be enough when the discs remain within specification. Dampers may need replacement as a pair for balanced performance. We explain what needs work now and what can be monitored, with a clear reason for each recommendation.

Make the next call useful

Leave with a repair decision you understand

We’d rather explain the estimate now than leave you guessing when the invoice arrives. Tell us your priority, whether that’s solving a breakdown, checking a worrying noise or planning overdue maintenance.

Thinking of buying a used Brilliance? Arrange a pre-purchase inspection before agreeing the sale. A road test and accessible checks have limits. Hidden faults or dismantling may need a separate agreement.

  1. 01

Share the car and the concern

Model, year, mileage and what changed. Include whether it still drives and any existing estimate. Photos of the warning or affected area can help, when taken safely.

  2. 02

Agree the checks and their cost

We explain the free visual assessment and any paid diagnosis. A written repair estimate follows the findings, with parts, labor, VAT, exclusions and expected timing.

  3. 03

Approve the work with the parts identified

Confirm the selected option and warranty before installation. After repair, the relevant operational checks and a road test where appropriate help confirm the original concern has been addressed.

Questions before your Brilliance repair

Straight answers to the details that can change the job, the price or the time your car spends with us.

Where is the workshop and when is it open?

My Car Repair Dubai operates from AMF AUTO SERVICES LLC at 39, Al Quoz, Dubai. Workshop hours are Monday to Friday 5 AM to 10 PM and Saturday 5 AM to 6 PM. The workshop is closed Sunday. Call 050 608 7150 to confirm an appointment or use the workshop directions.

Do you work on Brilliance V5, FRV and H530 models?

We accept inquiries for these models and other Brilliance passenger cars. Share the year, engine, transmission and concern so we can confirm the required work, parts supply and diagnostic support. A model name alone does not establish which component fits.

How much is a Brilliance oil service in Dubai?

The planning range is AED 200–350 including a filter, labor and 5% VAT when the engine uses up to 5 liters of suitable specified oil. A higher capacity or specific oil approval can put the service at AED 350–600. Plugs, extra filters and other due maintenance are itemized separately.

What does the free assessment include?

It covers an initial visual look at accessible areas and a discussion of the problem. Computer scanning and agreed initial targeted diagnosis are AED 150–350 including VAT. Extended tests, dismantling and repairs require a separate agreement. Ask us to explain the checks before leaving the car.

Can you find spare parts for an older Brilliance?

We check suppliers for the exact part before confirming availability. Send the model and year first. We may then request the VIN and existing part number. We explain the available brand, condition, delivered cost and expected wait. Stock and arrival dates are confirmed for your order, not assumed from a catalog listing.

Will a Mitsubishi or BMW part fit my Brilliance?

Only an exact, verified application match is useful. An engine family, similar appearance or a business relationship between manufacturers does not make every component interchangeable. We compare the vehicle information, part number and relevant fittings or electronic requirements before recommending a part.

My Brilliance jerks when changing gear. Does it need a gearbox?

It needs a targeted assessment first. Engine misfires, mounts, voltage faults, fluid problems and transmission faults can feel similar from the driver’s seat. The findings determine whether a component repair, internal rebuild or replacement is appropriate. Stop driving if it loses drive or displays an instruction to stop.

Can you fix the AC without replacing the compressor?

Yes, when testing identifies another repairable cause and the compressor is serviceable. Airflow, leaks, fan operation, pressure behavior and electrical control all affect cooling. We recommend a compressor only when the findings support it, then check for contamination and associated work before quoting.

Do you provide Brilliance software updates or EV repairs?

These need confirmation for the exact vehicle and requested function before booking. A general diagnostic scanner does not guarantee factory software, security access or high-voltage capability for every model. The engine and fluid-service descriptions here apply to suitable gasoline vehicles, not an electric powertrain.

When should I book the next service?

Use the maintenance schedule for your year, engine and original market, with both time and mileage limits. Bring the service book or invoices. We can identify missing history and due work, then account for the manufacturer’s severe-use instructions where applicable instead of applying one interval to every Brilliance.

How long will repairs take and what warranty applies?

We give a time estimate once the fault, workshop slot and parts availability are known. Written warranty terms identify the covered repair or parts, duration and exclusions before approval. A service appointment may be straightforward. A parts order or engine dismantling needs a different allowance. Check any existing dealer or service-plan cover before authorizing work.

Can you collect a Brilliance that will not start?

Call with the location, access restrictions and whether the vehicle rolls, steers and selects Neutral. We can discuss suitable pickup or recovery, subject to availability. The transport method and any charge are agreed first. An inquiry becomes an appointment only after the arrangements are confirmed.
