Which Polestar are you booking?

The model, year and fitted equipment matter more than the badge alone. Send the VIN or registration details so parts and procedures can be matched.

Charging faults need the right checks

Choose the closest description and send the details shown. A failed charging session is not an automatic reason to replace the traction battery.

What to record

  • Record the dashboard and charger messages.
  • Check whether a charging schedule or reached charge limit explains the session.
  • Tell us if another compatible charging point works.

What the checks distinguish

A cable, inlet latch, charging-point fault or vehicle-side problem needs different attention. Do not force a stuck connector, use damaged equipment or repeatedly retry against a warning. Home wiring and charging-point repairs belong with the provider or a qualified electrician.

What to record

  • Share whether AC works but DC fails, or the reverse.
  • Include the charger location, time and warning.
  • Mention any inlet damage or recent repair.

What the checks distinguish

AC charging uses the onboard charger to convert power for the battery. DC fast charging follows a different path. That difference helps plan the investigation, but it does not identify a failed component by itself. We confirm access and testing support for the fitted system.

What to record

  • Record the starting charge level and displayed charging power.
  • Note temperature, charging-point rating and any shared-power limit.
  • Describe a persistent warning or sudden change under similar conditions.

What the checks distinguish

Charging power varies with battery temperature, state of charge and the charging point. It normally falls as the battery fills. A lower peak on one session does not prove battery damage. Persistent errors or an unexplained change deserve assessment.

What your Polestar service includes

We follow your model’s service programme and check wear items before recommending replacements.

Gloved technician measuring tyre tread depth

Cabin and visibility

  • Cabin filter condition and airflow
  • Lights, wipers and washer operation
  • Service reminder and reported noises or warnings

Which battery needs attention?

A charged traction battery does not rule out a low-voltage problem. Tell us what the car is doing before ordering a replacement.

Low-voltage supply

Symptoms to report

The auxiliary battery supports controls, locks and other electrical systems. No wake-up, lock problems or several warnings can involve a weak supply, connections or abnormal electrical demand.

Testing to agree

Test the battery and relevant supply before ordering parts. Match battery technology, capacity and fitment, with any required setup and completion checks included.

The next decision

Replace a confirmed weak battery with the correct specification. Repeated discharge needs investigation of why it lost charge rather than another replacement alone.

Traction battery

Symptoms to report

Reduced range, a battery warning and loss of drive are different complaints. State of charge is the charge available now. State of health concerns battery condition. Dashboard range is not a certified capacity test.

Testing to agree

Agree what data or test is available, what it measures and its limits. High-voltage assessment and repair need qualified personnel, model access and an approved procedure. We confirm support before booking specialist work.

The next decision

Polestar directs high-voltage battery replacement to an authorised workshop. Check manufacturer coverage before approving paid internal work. A generic pack price is not a Polestar replacement quotation.

Polestar UAE describes battery cover of eight years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, with capacity conditions. Eligibility depends on the vehicle, market, service history and claim. The authorised network handles warranty decisions, campaigns and recalls.

Match the AC checks to the symptom

Weak airflow, warm air and thermal warnings need different investigations.

Weak airflow

Check the cabin filter, blower and air-distribution controls.

Warm cabin air

Check refrigerant, compressor operation and controls. A recharge will not repair a leak.

Cooling or charging warning

Share the warning and any coolant loss. Heat-pump equipment and cooling circuits differ by model and specification. Confirm the fitted system, correct fluids and available procedures before work.

Filter condition can affect airflow. It does not explain every cooling fault.

Brake repairs and a smoother ride

Regenerative braking still relies on friction brakes. Choose the work from measured wear and the symptoms you report.

Disc condition and caliper operation matter alongside pad thickness.

Compare the brake options

Pads alone
For discs that remain within the required measurements and condition.
Pads and discs
When wear, damage or surface condition requires both.
Further checks
For uneven wear, ABS warnings, caliper faults or a changed pedal.

Our brake repair service explains the fitted choices and completion checks.

Tyre fitment

Check tyre sizes, load and speed ratings, wheel condition and required pressures. Rotate only when fitted sizes and tyre instructions allow. Different front and rear fitments cannot be treated as a standard rotation.

Suspension checks

For knocks, vibration or uneven height, inspect relevant joints, bushes, bearings and dampers. Air or adaptive suspension needs its own checks where fitted. Identify Performance Pack brakes or dampers before ordering parts.

Displays, connectivity and driver-assistance faults

Describe the function that stopped working and when it happened. A screen, phone connection, camera and vehicle control module are different systems.

Service areaDetails to reportWork or access to confirm
Display or appWhich display, navigation, audio, app or key function failed, when it happened and any recent update or low-voltage warning.Follow model-specific restart instructions. Avoid resets that erase useful information before assessment.
Software setupModel, software message and requested update, key programming or module configuration.Polestar supplies supported over-the-air updates. Workshop downloads and setup depend on access, compatibility and the exact task. Confirm support before booking.
Cameras and safety systemsPersistent warning and recent glass, body or suspension work. Keep the warning available to the technician.Confirm required camera or radar calibration. Sensor replacement and completing calibration are separate items.

Plan the body repair and parts together

Send damage photographs and tell us whether the car can be moved safely.

Assess the damage

Send photographs and tell us whether the car can move safely. Check the panel or bumper and surrounding equipment, including sensors and glass. Impact may require underbody, mounting-point and adjacent-component checks before the visible damage is repaired.

Agree the repair

Compare panel repair and replacement, paint preparation and matching, glass specification and any camera or sensor calibration. Confirm the work included in the quotation. Obtain insurer authorisation before insurance-funded work begins.

Confirm the parts

Match the exact part by VIN and original market. Compare genuine or suitable alternatives, used-part condition, fitting materials, setup and warranty. Imported cars can differ in charging hardware and connectivity. Confirm delivery time and the repair date.

Our electric car repair page covers broader battery and charging choices.

After flooding or battery-area impact

Do not charge or handle exposed high-voltage components. Keep clear and obtain professional advice before moving the car, especially if unusual heat develops.

Getting here

Tell us whether it drives and charges.

For collection, share the location, access and whether the wheels roll. Pickup and drop-off depend on availability. An immobile EV needs suitable recovery following its model-specific instructions. Do not assume it can be towed with driven wheels on the road.

We explain the assessment charge, findings, parts choices and fitted total. You approve repairs before work begins. Additional work needs agreement, and specialist tests or dismantling are quoted separately.

Questions before booking Polestar repairs

Useful answers when comparing servicing and repair choices.

How much does Polestar repair cost in Dubai?

The general premium brake-pad guide is AED 300–1,500 per axle and pads with discs are AED 650–2,500 per axle, including 5% VAT. The fitted equipment and parts determine your quote. Charging, battery and scheduled service work need a model-specific estimate.

Does my electric Polestar need engine oil changes?

Battery-electric Polestar models do not have a combustion-engine oil service. Polestar 1 is a plug-in hybrid and has petrol-engine maintenance. Follow the programme for your exact model rather than buying a generic engine service package.

Can slow charging mean the battery has failed?

Not by itself. Charge level, battery temperature and the charging point affect power. Record comparable sessions and any warning. Persistent faults need assessment of the appropriate charging path before choosing a repair.

Can you replace the high-voltage battery?

Polestar’s manual directs high-voltage battery replacement to an authorised workshop. Send the model and warning so we can discuss the appropriate assessment or service route. Check manufacturer warranty eligibility before approving paid internal work.

Do you provide every Polestar software update?

Over-the-air updates are supplied through Polestar for supported vehicles. Workshop downloads, programming and configuration depend on access and the exact task. Confirm what is supported for your vehicle before booking.

What should I check before buying a used Polestar?

Review service and damage history, original market, charging operation, tyres, brakes, electronics and any available battery-condition information. Agree the inspection method and limitations. A dashboard range estimate is not a capacity certificate or a guarantee of future battery life.
