Rivian repair costs and what they cover

A brake service, a charging investigation and a replacement battery are different jobs. Price the work you actually need.

These published workshop estimates help plan routine work. They are not fixed Rivian offers. Every figure includes 5% VAT, with parts availability and vehicle requirements checked before booking.

WorkGeneral AED estimateWhat the estimate covers
Premium brake pads

AED 300–1,500 per axle

A suitable pad set and fitting for two front or two rear brakes. Separate sensors, extra hardware and discs are additional. Rivian-specific parts may fall outside this guide.

Four-wheel alignment

AED 200–350 service estimate

Four-wheel measurements and permitted adjustments. Rivian ride-height setup, repairs or extra calibration can change the scope. Balancing and tyres are separate.

Initial fault assessment

AED 150–350 agreed initial checks

Scanning or targeted investigation agreed in advance. Confirm Rivian system access first. Battery removal, internal work and extended testing are separate.

Battery, charging and drive-unit repairs need an individual quote. We establish the accessible tests and parts route before discussing repair or replacement. A scan fee is not the total repair price.

Identify your Rivian before choosing parts

The model name alone does not establish the battery, charging hardware or electronics.

R1T pickup
  • Share the model year, VIN and motor configuration if known.
  • Mention towing use, off-road impacts, suspension behaviour and any powered tonneau-cover or tailgate fault.
  • Include existing battery, drive-unit or charging-port changes in the history.
R1S SUV
  • Share the model year and original market, plus the exact warning.
  • Tell us about uneven ride height, third-row or liftgate concerns, charging and cabin cooling.
  • First- and second-generation vehicles need their own parts and service procedures.

For R2 or commercial-van enquiries, send the vehicle details first. Job acceptance and support must be checked rather than assumed from experience with R1 models. You do not need to identify the faulty component yourself.

Charging faults and imported connector compatibility

Choose the concern that best matches what happens when you plug in.

Start with the failed session

Tell us whether AC charging, DC fast charging or both are affected. Include the station, connector, adapter and message. A schedule, charge limit, station fault or vehicle fault can produce different outcomes.

We check the available vehicle information and agree relevant inlet, latch, low-voltage or charging-system tests. A charger that fails at one location does not establish that the traction battery needs replacement.

Separate slow charging from a fault

Charging speed changes with charge level, battery temperature and the station. Describe a repeated change under similar conditions, rather than compare one session with an advertised maximum.

Repeated interruptions, thermal warnings or a failure on several compatible chargers need assessment. Do not keep retrying if the vehicle warns against charging or a connector shows heat damage.

Assess the inlet and locking parts

A charge-port door, latch, inlet and cable are different components. Send a clear photo of visible damage and explain whether the connector locks or releases normally.

Do not force a stuck connector or use a damaged adapter. Building supply and wall-charger installation belong with the charging provider or a qualified electrician. Vehicle-side repair is quoted separately.

Battery warnings and loss of drive

A main-battery complaint and a vehicle that will not wake up need different investigations.

Low-voltage power

A Rivian can have charge in its traction battery yet fail to unlock, wake or enter drive. Check the auxiliary supply, connections and related charging support before ordering a battery. The fitted type and procedure vary by vehicle.

Traction battery and drive units

A battery or power warning may require investigation of the pack, cooling, isolation, inverter or drive unit. Confirm the accessible tests, safe working procedure and compatible parts before dismantling.

A dashboard range figure is not a battery-capacity certificate. Tyres, energy use and driving conditions also affect displayed range.

If findings support a serviceable component repair, compare that option with a compatible replacement assembly. New and used assemblies need their condition, supplier, fitted work and written coverage identified. We confirm specialist support and job acceptance for internal high-voltage work before booking. Our electric car repair service explains the wider testing and replacement choices.

Air suspension, steering and ride-height concerns

A low corner, harsh ride or repeated compressor operation needs a cause established before parts are replaced.

Uneven ride height
Assess leaks, air springs, lines, valves and height information as relevant. The corner that drops does not by itself identify the failed component.
Knocks or vibration
Inspect tyres, wheel bearings, joints, bushes and dampers against when the symptom occurs. Motor noise and road-wheel noise need separating.
Pulling or uneven wear
Check tyre condition and suspension wear before alignment. Measurements and available adjustments use the procedure for the vehicle.

Brakes still matter with regenerative braking

Noise, pulling or a changed pedal deserves a friction-brake inspection.

Brake disc surface during inspection
Pads, discs and caliper condition are assessed together.

Choose the needed brake work

  • Inspect pad wear, disc condition, calipers and fluid before selecting parts.
  • Pads alone and pads with discs are different repair estimates.
  • ABS warnings and electronic parking-brake concerns need checks on the relevant system.

Regeneration does not replace the friction brakes or their maintenance. A temporary change in regeneration is different from a persistent brake warning. Follow the displayed instructions and use the brake pedal as required.

A sinking pedal, lost braking or a severe pull needs safe stopping and recovery. Do not drive to test the problem.

Maintenance that suits an electric Rivian

Bring the history so the appointment covers what is due, rather than a petrol-car service package.

Routine checks

  • Tyre wear, pressures and compatible rotation.
  • Friction brakes, suspension and visible leaks.
  • Cabin filter, wipers and washer fluid.
  • Due fluids and vehicle-specific maintenance items.

Cooling and cabin AC

Describe weak airflow, warm air, coolant loss and any thermal warning separately. Refrigerant, lubricant and coolant must match the fitted system.

A recharge does not repair a leak or a failed component. Confirm the relevant repair and completion checks before work.

Rivian servicing does not include engine oil, spark plugs, turbochargers, fuel filters or timing belts. Use the maintenance guidance for the exact year and equipment. Do not apply one mileage interval or automatic coolant flush to every imported vehicle.

Technician measuring tyre tread depth
Tyre checks help distinguish wear from a suspension or alignment complaint.

Parts, software and repairs after damage

An imported Rivian needs a clear parts and support plan alongside the mechanical quote.

Parts and software

Confirm part numbers, condition, source and delivery time. Service-function access, configuration or calibration may be needed after fitting. A software update is not a repair for damaged hardware.

Keep Rivian account access with the owner. App connectivity, subscriptions and over-the-air update availability need checking for the vehicle and region.

Bodywork and glass

  • Inspect panel, paint and hidden damage before choosing repair or replacement.
  • Confirm support for affected cameras, sensors and required calibration.
  • Check insurance authorisation and payment arrangements before the job.
  • Photographs help plan an assessment but cannot establish hidden damage.

Buying a used Rivian

Agree mechanical, body, charging and accessible diagnostic checks. Include import history, earlier accident repairs and the charging equipment supplied.

Ask what battery information can actually be obtained. An inspection cannot guarantee future pack life or manufacturer warranty support.

We are an independent workshop operated by AMF AUTO SERVICES LLC. Do not assume North American manufacturer warranty terms provide local UAE repair cover. Check the applicable guide and Rivian response for your VIN, and distinguish any importer warranty from manufacturer coverage.

Arrange your Rivian workshop visit

Send the model year, VIN or vehicle details, warning message and whether the car drives and charges. Include the original market, previous repairs and any charging conversion. We confirm the requested work, support and appointment before your visit.

Your estimate identifies assessment charges, parts, labour, required setup, completion checks and VAT. Supply lead times affect the collection date. Additional work needs your approval, and applicable parts and repair coverage belongs in writing.

Call before visiting to confirm the slot and requested work. Pickup and drop-off depend on your location and availability.

When your Rivian cannot be driven

Questions before booking Rivian repairs

Clear answers for imported-vehicle owners.

Are you an authorised Rivian service centre?

No. My Car Repair Dubai is an independent multi-brand workshop operated by AMF AUTO SERVICES LLC. Send the VIN and requested work so we can confirm support before arranging the visit.

Can you repair a Rivian battery?

We first confirm the vehicle, available testing and specialist support. Findings determine whether a supported component repair or replacement can be quoted. Internal pack work is not automatically included in an initial scan.

Will a North American charging adapter work in Dubai?

Do not assume that it will. The vehicle inlet, AC or DC charging type, UAE station and exact adapter must be compatible. Confirm supported equipment before buying or using an adapter.

Does a Rivian need an engine oil change?

No. Battery-electric Rivians do not need combustion-engine oil servicing. Tyres, friction brakes, cabin filters and vehicle-specific fluids still need the maintenance listed for the vehicle.

Can you promise same-day repairs?

Completion depends on assessment, required work, parts and service-function access. We confirm the expected timing after establishing those requirements rather than promise every repair in one visit.

What should I send before booking?

Send the model, year, original market, warning and whether the car drives and charges. A VIN, current report and relevant photographs help confirm the appointment and parts requirements.
