Engine, leaks and overheating
Rough running, power loss, oil leaks and rising temperature need different repairs. The work may involve an ignition part, seal, hose, radiator or another failed component. Internal damage can require more extensive engine repair.
Repairing a cooling leak involves different work from repairing a damaged cylinder head. Testing and the engine’s condition determine whether a targeted repair is enough.
Gearbox and transmission faults
Slipping, delayed engagement or harsh shifts can involve fluid leaks, controls or internal wear. Transmission repair may mean repairing a leak or control fault, rebuilding a suitable unit, or comparing a replacement.
Tell us whether the problem appears when cold, when warm or in a particular gear. An oil change is maintenance and cannot be assumed to cure a damaged transmission.
Brakes, steering and suspension
Grinding, pulling, knocking or vibration can involve several parts. Brake repairs include pads, discs, calipers and hydraulic faults. Steering and suspension work can involve bushes, arms, dampers, joints or related components.
The estimate should identify the front or rear, the number of parts and any alignment needed. A noise alone does not tell you which component to buy.
Starting and electrical problems
A car that will not crank may need a replacement battery, but poor connections, the starter or the charging system can also be involved. Electrical work includes wiring, sensors and control-related faults where supported for your model.
Computer diagnostics helps investigate warning lights. A code gives a starting point; readings from the car and practical tests help establish the cause. Clearing the code alone does not repair the fault.
AC and cabin cooling
Weak airflow and air that blows warm need different work. Car AC repair can involve the blower and controls, a refrigerant leak, condenser or compressor, depending on the fault.
A recharge replaces refrigerant; it does not repair a leaking component. Your car’s refrigerant type and the parts required belong in the estimate.
Dents, paint and accident damage
For damaged bumpers, dents, scratches or collision damage, our body shop explains panel repair, replacement and painting choices. The material, damage and adjacent finish affect the work.
Tell us if the damage followed an impact or also changed the steering or ride. A photograph helps with an initial enquiry, but hidden damage needs assessment.
Repair guides for your car
For an X55, X35 or BJ-series SUV, see our BAIC repair and service guide in Dubai for model-specific checks, fitted cost estimates, gearbox choices and workshop details.
For a T77, T99, T90 or B70, our Bestune repair and servicing page compares scheduled service, engine and gearbox checks, parts choices and estimated costs.
For other supported Chinese passenger vehicles, compare our FAW repair estimates and parts checks or EXEED service and repair options. Each page explains model identification, repair choices and what the estimate includes.
BX5 and BX7 owners can use the Borgward repair cost and parts guide to compare maintenance packages, component repairs and parts-supply considerations.
